The Oakland Raiders head east for a Week 12 date with the Titans  Let’s take a look at Trends, recent scores, Injuries & relevant info for this game and try to come up with some solid NFL picks.

Odds Overview
Oakland Raiders at Tennessee Titans [18:00] (CBS, Directv 713, NFL RedZone, 1 p.m. EST/10 a.m. PST): QB David Carr, Rookie Amari Cooper and the Oakland Raiders (4-6 SU, 5-5 ATS) head to Opryland and LP Field in Nashville on Sunday to face Rookie Marcus Mariota and the Tennessee Titans (2-8 SU, 4-6 ATS) in an AFC inter-divisional Week 12 game which matters to both teams despite the .500 or sub-.500 records. Current (Tuesday morning) NFL odds have the visiting Raiders as slight 1½-point favorites (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook) with the Total (Points) posted at 44 (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook). In the Money Line (Winner) marketplace, the Raiders are small -117 favorites with the Titans priced at +1o6 on the takeback as Home underdogs. The Tennessee Titans Total Team Points has been set at 23 (Stan James) while the Oakland Raiders Total Team Points is at 21 (Stan James) for this game.

Oakland Raiders
The Oakland Raiders (240 PF-259 PA) have hit the skids, now having L2 straight after falling to the lowly Lions at Ford Field in Detroit on Sunday, 18-13 as the QB David Carr was held to just 169 Passing yards. What is behind some of this slide? One can’t help but think that the back-and-forth travel Oakland has had to endure so far this season with long trips already to Cleveland, Chicago, Pittsburgh and Detroit helping to wear this West Coast team which plays in the Pacific Time Zone—2 to 3 hours behind all of the Midwestern and Mideastern cities—and now this Week 12 journey to Nashville, Tennessee (EST). If the Vince Lombardi Trophy could somehow be acquired by Frequent Flyer Mileage, then perhaps the Silver and Black would be this year’s NFL champions. On the Road, the Raiders (-1 Takeaway/Giveaway, Tied for #18) have been historically horrific SU when traveling to the Midwest, East and South and their Win at Cleveland was their first “back East” in 15 tries. Behind Carr, Rookie WR Amari Cooper, WR Michael Crabtree, RB Latavius Murray and Sebastian Janikowski have been much-improved on Offense and had a nice start and caught some fumes but Reality and a crappy, unreliable Defense (#29 in NFL, 4,052 Total Yards allowed) may have caught up with this team who has been without LB Aldon Smith (Suspension). On the Injury front, TE Lee Smith (Wrist), C Rodney Hudson (Undisclosed) and RB Taiwan Jones (Knee) are all listed as Questionable here while LB Neiron Ball (Knee) is Out Indefinitely. WR Andre Debose, S Jimmy Hall, T Menelik Watson (Achilles) and DE Justin Tuck (Pectoral) are all on the Oakland Injured-Reserve List.

Tennessee Titans
Even with Rookie QB Marcus Mariota looking so promising and evolving nicely in his first year, the Tennessee Titans (182 PF-233 PA) have still scored the least amount of points in the AFC to date (182). So then why haven’t the Titans been totally getting raked ATS? The Defense has been really impressive, ranking #6 in the NFL in Total Yards allowed (3,243) and keeping Tennessee in games while the Offense has often sputtered in the Red Zone or given the football away. The Titans are tied for 28th in Takeaway/Giveaway heading in here in Week 12, with a -7. The best team in the league in this stat? The undefeated Carolina Panthers at +13. The Ball and Possession of it always matters in Sports. Unless it’s Hockey. Last Thursday in Week 11 against the Jaguars in Jacksonville, the Titans could only muster one TD in the 19-13 Loss to their AFC South division rivals as Mariota went 22-for-35 for 231 yards with only RB Antonio Andrews (15 rushes, 78 yards, 5.2 ypc) and TE Delanie Walker (8 receptions, 109 yards, TD) providing any real production. Those thinking the Titans were potentially going to be something special this season are now remembering what they forgot. On the Injury front, WR Kendall Wright (Knee), DL Al Woods (Ankle), S Da’Norris Searcy (Knee) and Blidi Wreh-Wilson (Hamstring) are all listed as Questionable here while RB Dexter McCluster (Knee) is Doubtful. LB Deiontrez Mount (Knee) and TE Dorin Dickerson (Achilles) are bopu Out for the Season for Tennessee while CB Jason McCourty (Groin), CB Brandon Harris (Knee), C Brandon Schwenke (Knee) and WR Justin Hunter (Ankle) are all on the Injured-Reserve List.

Recent Series Trends and Best Betting Approach
When these two last played, the Titans won 23-19 at Colisuem in Oakland and covered as 2½-point chalks in 2013 while the last meeting here in the Volunteer State saw the then Tom Cable-coached Raiders get smashed here in Nashville in Week 1 in 2007, 38-13 failing to cover ATS as 6½-point underdogs. Lifetime, Oakland is 27-20-0 against this franchise (1,133 PF-1,064 PA) but the way this team has played Defensively and east of the Mississippi River over the last decade or so makes it really hard to just pull the trigger on Oakland—especially in the throes of a 3-game Losing streak and making their 5th trip to either an AFC South or NFC North city. The Raiders are a worful 45-86 ATS their L131 games ATS playing an opponent with a losing record, but the good things for the visitors here are that they have the best Roster and attitude they’ve had in a long time—since their last Super Bowl appearance against the Buccaneers—and that they are playing the lowly Titans, who have been an almost automatic ATS go-against for the past several seasons. Best to ride the Horse in the direction he’s going.

The Titans are 7-2 ATS the L9 in this series here at Home at LP Field and previous stadia and although Oakland has been historically bad travelling east and will again be losing 3 Body Clock Hours going from EST to PST and playing at 10 a.m. their time (PST), Tennessee has been bad everywhere, going 2-12-2 ATS its L16 against teams with a Losing record and an equally miserable 7-21-2 ATS its L30 overall (25.0%). Raiders K Sebastian Janikowski may be the difference here in an AFC inter-divisional game which should be extremely close throughout.

PREDICTED FINAL SCORE: Raiders 23 Titans 20
