It’s two of the marquee franchises in the NFL squaring off on Sunday Night Football, but this doesn’t have quite the luster because of a certain injured Packer. Survivor Pick: Pittsburgh.

Green Bay Packers at Pittsburgh Steelers (-14, 41.5)

All these teams have combined for is 13 Super Bowl appearances and 10 wins, including a record six by Pittsburgh. The last time either team made it that far was against one another in SB XLV, a 31-25 Green Bay win. Aaron Rodgers threw three touchdown passes and was named the game’s MVP – it’s still shocking that Rodgers has played in just one Super Bowl. Green Bay built a 21-3 lead and held on. Ben Roethlisberger threw for 263 yards, two TDs and two picks. Who knows if Big Ben and Rodgers, both first-ballot Hall of Famers, will ever face off again? Of course, Rodgers is out with a broken collarbone and the Packers and Steelers won’t play in the regular season again for four years. Roethlisberger surely will not be around then. Pittsburgh could make the Super Bowl this season, but Green Bay has zero chance unless Rodgers makes a miraculous recovery in time to earn a playoff spot. The Packers haven’t been this big of an underdog since Dec. 19, 2010, at New England. Matt Flynn started that with Rodgers suffering a concussion the previous week at Detroit. The Packers lost to the Patriots 31-27.

  • Packers are 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games after accumulating less than 90 yards rushing in their previous game.
  • Steelers are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games in November.

Green Bay comes off an embarrassing 23-0 loss to Baltimore. It was the Packers’ first home shutout loss since 2006, a 35-0 defeat to New England when Brett Favre was knocked out injured. The Ravens defeat was 11 years exactly to the day. Packers coach Mike McCarthy says he’s sticking with struggling backup QB Brett Hundley. He was truly bad against the Ravens with three interceptions and a lost fumble. In the past five games, which includes the one Rodgers was injured, Hundley ranks 34th among quarterbacks in passer rating (63.1), tied for 28th in yards per attempt (5.99) and tied for 36th in touchdown passes (two). Meanwhile, the Steelers come off a season-high 40 points in a blowout of Tennessee last Thursday. Big Ben threw for 299 yards and a season-high four touchdowns. He passed Warren Moon for eighth all-time in passing yards (49,411). No. 7 is Eli Manning at 50,512. Antonio Brown blew up for 10 catches, 144 yards and three scores in the win over the Titans.  One negative, though on Monday, as starting right tackle Marcus Gilbert has been suspended four games for performance-enhancing drugs. He’s not appealing and can return to the team on Dec. 18. Chris Hubbard will replace him in the lineup.

  • Over is 7-1 in Packers last 8 road games.
  • Over is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings.
