No teams are healthy this late in the year, but the Panthers and Jets will be about as much so as possible with both coming out of their bye week. Survivor Pick: Carolina.

Carolina Panthers at New York Jets (+4.5, 39.5)

The Panthers might have preferred not to go on the bye week as they come off their best effort of the season, a 45-21 blowout of Miami on Monday in Week 10 for a third straight win. Cam Newton had one of the games of his career, throwing for 254 yards, four scores and no picks while rushing for 95 yards. Carolina gashed a solid Miami defense for 294 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Jonathan Stewart came back from the dead with 110 yards on 17 carries. "It's nice to see them have this type of breakout game," Panthers coach Ron Rivera said of the offense, which had 30 first downs and converted 11 of 14 third downs. The Jets entered their bye off a 15-10 loss at Tampa Bay. New York managed only 275 yards – albeit four more than Tampa – and turned it over twice. Robby Anderson caught a 38-yard TD pass in the final minute for the Jets, scoring for the fourth straight game. Carolina won the last meeting with the Jets 30-20 and will win by around 10 again.

  • Panthers are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 road games.
  • Jets are 4-11 ATS in their last 15 games in November.

Good news for Newton as he will welcome back one of the NFL’s best tight ends, Pro Bowler Greg Olsen, for this one. Olsen broke his foot in Week 2 and was placed on injured reserve. He could be limited at first. However, Newton lost a weapon in the win over Miami as rookie receiver Curtis Samuel was lost for the season with ligament damager in his ankle. The second-round pick out of Ohio State was just coming into his own after spending most of training camp and an early part of the season dealing with a hamstring injury and then a different ankle injury. Samuel had a season-high five catches on seven targets for 45 yards against Miami. He was more involved in the offense since the trade of Kelvin Benjamin to Buffalo. Can a Jets offense lacking many gamebreakers do much against the No. 1 total defense in the NFL? I doubt it considering New York couldn't figure out a way to beat the Bucs' 28th-ranked defense. Could the Jets soon look at Bryce Petty or Christian Hackenberg the rest of the season?

  • Under is 5-2 in Panthers last 7 road games.
  • Under is 8-1-1 in Jets last 10 games following a ATS loss.
