Alshon Jeffery O/U 54 ½ Receiving Yards Free NFL Pick: OVER 54 ½ (-115)Best Line Offered: at Bovada

Even though Alshon Jeffery showed up on the injury report earlier this week, ESPN’s Adam Schefter says that the wideout is expected to play on the Eagles vs Cowboys Sunday Night Football clash. This is big news for the Eagles’ passing offense as they try to silence their divisional rival, the Cowboys.

Jeffery has been a beast in the receiving game this season in his first year in Philadelphia, and lately, he has seen his target share increase in the Eagles’ offense. Last week Jeffery caught six of his 11 targets, which was the second most looks he’s seen all season.

This week against the Cowboys, Jeffery should once again be a focus of the Philadelphia passing attack. The Cowboys have not been great at defending the pass this season, and opposing wideouts have been a big reason why.

Even though they are allowing 146.2 receiving yards per game to wideouts this season, they have given up 11 touchdowns to the position, which is the fourth most in the NFL this season.

Jeffery has hauled in three TDs over his last two games, and while I’m sticking with his yards prop, his touchdown odds aren’t bad either. The best thing about Jeffery’s yards total tonight is his ability to cash the over with just one or two catches.

Jeffery has been catching some long bombs from Carson Wentz lately, and over his last four games, his longest catch has been anywhere between 24 and 53 yards. IN those four games, Jeffery is averaging 7.3 yards per target.

If we can assume that he gets eight to 10 targets in this game against a spotty defense, I like his chances of getting 55 or more yards in this one.
