Excellent Thursday night matchup this week as it’s a potential playoff preview between division leaders who are each on a four-game winning streak. Survivor Pick: Pittsburgh.

Tennessee Titans at Pittsburgh Steelers (-6.5, 43.5)

First meeting between the teams since a close Pittsburgh win in Nashville three years ago. The Titans didn’t have guys like Marcus Mariota (it was Zach Mettenberger that day, and that guy should be flipping burgers somewhere), DeMarco Murray, Derrick Henry or Corey Davis back then. This is the Titans’ fourth straight game vs. an AFC North foe and they are 3-0 – winning each by four points or fewer. On Sunday, it was 24-20 home victory over Cincinnati. Mariota hit Murray on a 7-yard touchdown pass in the final minute. Murray also rushed for two scores, although he was mostly held in check yardage-wise. Bengals CB Dre Kirkpatrick on the Tennessee offense: "They were doing different (stuff) the whole game. I'm going to tip my hat to their offensive coordinator. I thought Pittsburgh was bad, but those guys had a lot of plays, a lot of formations." The Titans’ four-game winning streak is their longest since winning five straight in 2009, and they haven't won six games this early since 2008, when the Titans won their first 10 and last reached the playoffs as the AFC's No. 1 seed.  The Steelers came out of their bye week and were lucky to escape as a double-digit favorite at a bad Colts team, 20-17, rallying from down 17-3. Chris Boswell hit a field goal as time expired, but it wasn’t a great effort from the Steelers, who would be the AFC’s top seed if the playoffs started today. Some books already have this line at 7 – get it before then.

  • Titans are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.
  • Steelers are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS loss.

Pittsburgh will be without one key player here in cornerback Joe Haden. The Steelers signed him to a big contract early this season when the Browns cut the former Pro Bowler, and Haden had been having a good campaign. He broke his fibula against the Colts but won’t need surgery and could be back in a month. Coty Sensabaugh will be his replacement; Sensabaugh was originally drafted by the Titans in 2012. Pittsburgh safety Mike Mitchell is in question here after leaving Sunday’s game with an ankle injury.  The Titans appear to have made it pretty healthy out of their win. Mariota dinged up his shoulder, but he’s playing Thursday. Tennessee’s defensive coordinator, incidentally, is Hall of Famer Dick LeBeau, a long-time Steelers DC. Guy is 80 years old! Steelers defensive end Cam Heyward said he has fond memories of LeBeau but says “this isn't a funeral, coach LeBeau is going to be out there trying to kick our ass' for Titans.” This will be a very run-heavy game, which will keep the score down.

  • Under is 5-1 in Steelers last 6 vs. a team with a winning record.
  • Under is 8-3 in Titans last 11 vs. a team with a winning record.
