They are on different coasts, but this will be the fifth straight year and seventh time in the past eight that the Bolts and Jaguars will play. Survivor Pick: Jacksonville.

Los Angeles Chargers at Jacksonville Jaguars (-4, 41)

The Chargers are 7-2 in this series all-time and have won the past six. Last year in San Diego, it was 38-14 in Week 2. Philip Rivers threw for 220 yards and four touchdowns. Melvin Gordon rushed for 102 yards and a score. Travis Benjamin had six catches for 115 yards and two TDs. Blake Bortles was 31-for-50 for 329 yards, two scores and two picks. He also led the team with 34 yards rushing. The Chargers come off their bye week so should be about as healthy as possible at this point of the season. They have won three of four and are still in the AFC West race with the Chiefs losing three of their past four. Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn said he wants to see a more consistent Gordon in the second half of the season. Lynn said the week of rest during the bye week should help reenergize Gordon. He has been pretty good already with 526 yards rushing and four scores to go with 30 catches for 235 yards and four TDs. The Jags are tied atop the AFC South with Tennessee. They easily handled the Bengals in Week despite playing without rookie star Leonard Fournette.

  • Chargers are 1-7-1 ATS in their last 9 games following a straight up loss.
  • Jaguars are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games overall.

Fournette was deactivated for Jacksonville’s 23-7 win over Cincinnati for breaking a team rule. Coach Doug Marrone already has said Fournette will go here (unless he does something else stupid during the week). On the season, Fournette has 596 rushing yards and six touchdowns along with 136 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown. He is second in the league in rushing yards per game (99.3). More good news for the Jags: rising second-year superstar cornerback Jalen Ramsey will be able to play. There was some concern he might get suspended for a dustup with Bengals WR A.J. Green, but both avoided suspension. Ramsey is a big reason why the Jaguars allow just 156.4 passing yards per game, by far the best in the NFL. It there’s one guy who would know how to attack that defense, it would be Chargers defensive coordinator Gus Bradley. He was 14-48 as Jacksonville’s head coach, fired with two games left last season. Under Bradley, the Chargers have created seven turnovers and allowed just 14.7 points a game during the team's past four games.

  • Under is 5-0 in Chargers last 5 vs. AFC.
  • Under is 4-0 in Jaguars last 4 games after accumulating more than 250 yards passing in their previous game.
