The NFL’s oldest rivalry is renewed for the second and final time this season as Chicago is an incredibly rare favorite against the Packers. Survivor Pick: Chicago.

Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears (-5, 38)

Gee, do you think Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers is important? Of course, he’s out likely for the season with a broken right collarbone. Rodgers became the team’s full-time starter in 2008. The Packers have been favorites over the Bears in every game since then other than December of that first season. Since the beginning of the 2011 season, the Packers have gone 11-2 against the Bears. The Packers are also 7-0 in their past seven trips to Soldier Field, including the playoffs. Again, those are all Rodgers. Meanwhile, this is only the fifth time under John Fox that Chicago has been a favorite against anyone. The Bears are 0-5 SU & ATS. It last happened in Tampa on Nov. 13, 2016, as Chicago was -2.5 and crushed 36-10 by the Bucs. Green Bay is on a short week after losing 30-17 at home to Detroit on Monday night. The Pack are 0-3 without Rodgers this season, including the game he was hurt. All three losses have been by at least nine points. The Bears, meanwhile, are off their bye. This will be Mitchell Trubisky’s first start in the Green Bay rivalry. It is the Packers’ first November game in Chicago since 2001. Green Bay has won their last two games at Chicago in November.

  • Packers are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 meetings in Chicago.
  • Bears are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a bye week.

This has easily the lowest total on the board, and why not? Packers backup QB Brett Hundley has thrown for one touchdown and four picks thus far in 2017. Green Bay hasn’t topped 17 points in the past three games – it had 35 in a blowout win of Chicago in Week 4 with Rodgers throwing for four TDs. Mike Glennon was the Bears’ starting QB then. Trubisky still has the training wheels on and has yet to complete more than 14 passes or for more than 164 yards. The Chicago defense has been a huge surprise and ranks Top 10 in yards allowed. The Bears forced eight turnovers in their last three games entering the bye. Green Bay has recorded two-plus interceptions in each of the last three games against Chicago, totaling seven over that span. In 15 regular-season games against the Bears, Packers linebacker Clay Matthews has 9.5 sacks, the second most he has recorded against any team. Matthews also has three picks, two more than against any other team. This won’t be pretty.

  • Under is 4-0 in Packers last 4 games when playing on Sunday following a Monday night game.
  • Under is 4-0 in Bears last 4 home games.
