The NFL Season has lived up to expectations leading into week 3. We're going to break down what we think are the top 3 plays against the spread as we look to provide the betting public with a significant profit.

Thursday Night Football

Houston Texans vs. New England Patriots

No Garoppolo, No Brady, No Win
Look for injuries and suspensions to keep up with possibly the best team in the NFL as the betting odds indicate. When 5 Dimes Sportsbook lists the Houston Texans as a 1 point favorite on the road against New England, you know that New England has some serious issues. People don't like to fade the Pats, but when Jimmy Garoppolo left the game against Miami, the Dolphins made a major comeback and I don't think Jacoby Brissett is the answer.

Early Rookie of the Year Campaign
Rookie wide receiver, Will Fuller, has been mighty sharp in these first 2 games of the season as he's caught for over 100 yards in each game. The one stat that I don't like to see is that Fuller has been targeted 18 times by starting quarterback, Brock Osweiler, and has caught 9 passes. This isn't a good percentage and not particularly Fuller's fault. Nonetheless, we're going to see a lot more of Osweiler (499 yards, 3 TD, 3 INT) to Fuller and for the New England Patriots, no matter who is behind center, LaGarrette Blount should see a ton of carries as he's been a surprising workhorse for this team. In only 2 weeks, Blount has 51 carries for 193 yards and 2 TD's. Will it be enough is the question?

Cleveland Browns vs. Miami Dolphins

This is the Fins' Week
The NFL betting odds clearly indicate that although the Miami Dolphins are an 0-2 team, they have a decisive advantage at home this week against a disappointing Cleveland Browns squad.

"Receivers Coming Out of the Ear"
Excuse me for my comedy, but the Miami Dolphins are very secure at the wide receiver position as they go at least 5 players deep, led by Jarvis Landry (196 yards). With a talented but often injured Arian Foster at the running back position, the Dolphins must have a big game out of quarterback, Ryan Tannehill (575 yards 2 TD, 2 INT) and Tannehill is more than capable of doing so with the wide array of wide receivers on this squad.

DeVante Parker, who missed week 1, has been criticized by the press and his head coach for his inability to play with a hamstring injury, but Parker had a monster performance in week 2 against the Patriots in which he answered the bell with 8 catches for 106 yards. Look for Parker to play well as the Dolphins have guys that are fighting for playing time and this brings out the best in players.

For Cleveland, it's quite simple. They can't seem to keep a quarterback healthy ,but they have two options in running back Isaiah Crowell (195 yards, 2 TD) and rookie wide receiver Corey Coleman (173 yards, 2 TD). These are the two bright spots for the Browns, but look for the Dolphins to lay a beating on Cleveland for your week 3 NFL predictions.

New York Jets vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Forte Is the Difference
For the New York Jets (1-1), they have a really rough schedule early in the season and this is a huge game against a beatable Chiefs (1-1) team on the road. One major reason for this is the play of duel-threat running back, Matt Forte, Although Forte will be 31 years old soon and was disgarded by the Chicago Bears, the Bears made a huge mistake as Forte is one of the best all purpose backs in the league and he's been finding some nice holes created by the Jets offensive line. After a 3 rushing touchdown performance for Forte against the Buffalo Bills, he has 196 yards and 3 TD's rushing and 7 receptions for 68 yards for the season. With Brandon Marshall suffering an injury, Matt Forte has more than compensated for the lack of productivity from Marshall.

Proving His Worth
We also add in the fact that we have a motivated quarterback in Ryan Fitzpatrick, who had a career year last year with New York and is looking to prove that he's worth the money. This will only benefit the Jets as Fitzpatrick has been able to find Eric Decker (163 yards, 2 TD's) and Quincy Enunwa (146 yards, 1 TD) as Enunwa has been the big surprise on this Jets squad. Although Spencer Ware has filled in admirably for Jamaal Charles, who is not ready to go for the Chiefs just yet, this is a great spot for the Jets as I think they're simply the better overall team and ready to win now.

Free NFL Pick: New York Jets +3 -120
