Did Week 1 tear you down? There are still some chances to make up for a bad week, and tonight with two games on tap, there are several nice NFL odds when it comes to props. Here are my three best bets for tonight’s prop bets, and all of these NFL odds are from Bovada.
Golden Tate O/U 65.5 Receiving Yards
Golden Tate should be in for a big season in his first year in Detroit. He was already a very good receiver with limited targets in Seattle, but going to Detroit, his targets may double. He also has the pleasure of starting next to the best receiver in football, so his one on one chances against defensive backs will be plentiful. Tonight should be no different. The Giants have stated they won’t double team Calvin Johnson, however when that blows up in their face, the Giants’ secondary will have to shadow coverage over to Johnson, likely leaving Tate with a lot of room to work. At only 65 yards, Tate’s over/under is just a little low on the NFL odds for where I’m projecting him tonight, so take the over at Bovada.
NFL Pick: 'Over' 65 ½ receiving yards (-115)
Rashad Jennings vs. Reggie Bush Rushing Yards
This is probably my favorite play for our NFL picks on the first Monday Night game, as Rashad Jennings is only a -10 ½ rushing yards favorite over Reggie Bush for this game. It’s as close to a steal as you’ll get. Bush is still splitting time with Joique Bell, and he loses out on some third down and goal line touches with him in the game. Bush will likely get more carries, but compared to Jennings, he’ll likely receive eight to ten less touches. Bush also will likely do more of his work through the air, while Jennings will be on the field for a lot more snaps. While it remains to be seen how close the game will be, if it stays within one or two scores, Jennings should get 11 more rushing yards than Bush.
NFL Pick: Rashad Jennings -10.5 rushing yards (-115) vs. Reggie Bush
Larry Fitzgerald O/U 5.5 Receptions
The late night Monday game tonight features the Cardinals and Chargers, and one of my favorite plays is Larry Fitzgerald’s reception total. At 5.5, the over looks like a great play against the below average Chargers secondary. Fitzgerald has been wildly undervalued virtually all offseason, and it has carried over into the season, leaving us with great value from Bovada. Fitzgerald will be used all over the field, and all throughout the game. Also, with the potential absence of Andre Ellington, the Cardinals are going to have to throw the ball a lot in this game. Fitzgerald’s targets might increase by a couple, and with his catch rate, it should be enough for him to have six or more receptions. Fitzgerald had seven games last season where he had six or more receptions, and now in his second year under Bruce Arians’ offense, Larry F should have a huge season. Look for him to have a lot of targets, and grab six or more balls to cash the over tonight. Not only is the situation right for Fitz tonight, but also the value on the over is nice at +100.
NFL Pick: Larry Fitzgerald 'Over' 5.5 receptions (+100)
