Five of the NFL's most storied franchises will be in action this Sunday. So will the Tennessee Titans. Will Ken Whisenhunt continue his preseason futility against the NFL odds?

No rest for the wicked, folks. We've got another three exhibition games to look at for Week 2, and we can tell you that each of these NFL picks required some deep thought – even the one involving our good buddy, Ken Whisenhunt. Let's get to it, boppers.

Green Bay at Pittsburgh (1:00 p.m. ET, NFLN)
Pittsburgh's Mike Tomlin has fallen to 15-19-1 ATS in preseason action after losing his first two games this year – the Steelers were in the Hall of Fame Game, but they couldn't take advantage of their extra preparation when they lost 23-21 to the Jacksonville Jaguars (–1 at home) in Week 1.

We've already recommended Green Bay for this matchup, but there's a known unknown in Steelers backup QB Bruce Gradkowski, who was activated from the PUP list last week after coming into training camp with an injured right shoulder. As we go to press, we don't know how much Gradkowski will be playing Sunday, if at all. See if you can find this out before plunking down your cash money.

St. Louis at Tennessee (8:00 p.m. ET, FOX)
It happened again, Mother. Whisenhunt lost another preseason game, dropping a 31-24 decision to the Atlanta Falcons (–2.5 at home). That leaves Whisenhunt at 9-20-1 ATS in exhibition play. Easy fade, right? Well... the Rams have run into some medical issues, so we're a little bit concerned about that.

On the other hand, Jeff Fisher suggested to reporters on Friday that Nick Foles and the Rams first unit will be getting some extra burn in Week 2. We say suggest because Fisher can be enigmatic about these things. “We'll increase reps, but some guys may play less,” for instance. Fisher did specify that Foles would get more work, so that gives us a bit more confidence that St. Louis can get the job done.

Dallas at San Francisco (7:30 p.m. ET)
We encountered a similar dilemma when we did our full-sized preview of this matchup. Okay, maybe not a dilemma exactly. Cowboys coach Jason Garrett is 5-12 ATS in the preseason, so that's a good reason to fade Dallas. But where's our confidence when it comes to the Niners? They're just not very good. People would rather retire than play football in Santa Clara.

I'm going to rely on some reverse engineering here. If we're comfortable betting the UNDER, then we can lean toward the underdog when it comes to the spread, as if we're making the standard underdog-UNDER parlay. However, note that we're going against the consensus, which is two-thirds on San Francisco as we go to press. And may the prolate spheroid be with you.
