We are off to a hot start in our NFL Preseason picks! I am looking to keep things going here in Week 2 between the Eagles and Steelers. Right now the NFL Odds from Pinnacle have the Steelers as -3 ½ favorites with a total of 41.

Week 1 performances and Week 2 outlook
Ben Roethlisberger didn’t see the field in Week 1 along with most of the crucial Steelers starters. Pittsburgh had only one offensive touchdown and the other came off a pick-six by Doran Grant.

The Steelers seem to be taking that same mindset into Week 2. A report out on Tuesday says that Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown, Le’Veon Bell and DeAngelo Williams will all not play in Thursday’s preseason game against the Eagles.

This is breaking news as of Tuesday afternoon, so make sure to check your sportsbook of choice for the most up to date NFL Odds, but right now it seems as if the Eagles may be the better play here as +3 ½ dogs.

Philadelphia ended up beating the Buccaneers behind a bad game from the Bucs’ scrubs and a couple of rushing touchdowns from Chase Daniel and Ryan Matthews in Week 1 of the preseason. They played their high-priced rookie quarterback Carson Wentz the most of all four quarterbacks who saw action. Wentz was uninspiring however, throwing 12/24 for only 89 yards and an interception. Daniel was sacked four times in the game when he came in, while Sam Bradford completed his only pass for three yards after a Tampa Bay fumble led off the game, which led to the Matthews touchdown.

For Week 2 against each other, this gives us another great opportunity to cash a winning ticket. Even if the Eagles give Bradford some more time under center to start the game, it’s not going to be enough to score into the high 20s in points.

On the other side, with the all the offensive starters either barely playing, or not playing at all, it makes the Steelers’ offense a lot less threatening, especially in the preseason. With a total of 40 ½, the under is once again looking like a great NFL Pick here.

The Sharp Pick
We cashed the under four times in Week 1 of the preseason. Some were easy winners like the Eagles’ last game, while others were by just a half point like our Sunday parlay. However, with the Eagles still trying to figure out their quarterback and basically entire offensive system, I don’t expect them to score too much.

For the Steelers, they are coming off a game where they only scored once on offense and it wouldn’t surprise me at all to see them limited to points somewhere in the teens for this one.

The under was a winner in Week 1 of the preseason at 8-6-2, but after a big day one, (which I called by the way) the under cashed at only 4-4-2 on the final three days of preseason Week 1.

While I don’t think the under will continue to trend as heavily in Week 2 with most teams playing their starters more, for this particular game is looks like a great play. Look for both teams to be in the teens in scoring once the game is over.
