After a wishy-washy regular season this experienced handicapper has reviewed the postseason NFL odds and targeted a few juicy plays for Sunday, hoping to add to our bankroll.

Swinger's 2014 NFL Record (25-24-2 -14.95 units) *Not including Saturday’s wild card games*
Had we waited a bit longer last week to get down on our NFL picks, we would have gone 3-1 but instead we got the Browns +10 and Under 37 in the Cardinals/49’ers game which both landed square on the number. We cashed for 4 units on the Chiefs over the Chargers but flamed when the 49’ers could not cover the 5 ½ point impost and defeated Arizona by only a field goal.

Alas, it was a 1-1-2 day that saw us drop two units but it’s all shiny and new as the postseason is here and we are looking to do some damage to your man. Below are my NFL playoff picks for Sunday’s games. Please note this article was written prior to Saturday’s NFL action so let’s hope we’re rolling big time headed into Sunday.

Bengals vs. Colts – Sunday 1/4/15 at 1:05 ET
Just explain to me how Dandy Andy is going to move the chains against an Indianapolis defense that ranks 12th against the pass without at his disposal a healthy, at best, AJ Green or a healthy Jermaine Grisham? No, now don’t you shrug your shoulders and walk away from me little Mister – I’m talking to you! Sure you can talk all day long about the emergence of the Bengals’ Jeremy Hill but the Cats won’t be running when Andrew Luck and the Colts top-rated passing attack eviscerates Cincinnati’s 20th ranked pass defense.

I realize that it appears the sharps’ fingerprints are all over the underdog as the line has dropped from four to three in NFL odds as of this writing but that will not deter me. All I know is that the Colts had very little trouble with the Bengals when they blanked them 27-0 at Lucas Oil Stadium back in October. And though the NFL season is rife with ups and downs, I’m of the opinion that Indianapolis will score early and often which will lead to an effortless cover.

Lions vs. Cowboys – Sunday 1/4/15 at 4:40 ET
Tony Romo and the Cowboys have been the darling of the Lone Star state this year because a stellar offensive line has allowed Romo to get off clean without running for his life. That has been the primary reason why the Boys are where they are but one would be remiss and damn near ignorant if the superb running ability of DeMarco Murray was not recognized.

Here's how we expect casual bettors to bet on the Lions vs. Cowboys.

So here’s the deal ladies and gents. The Lions are stone cold killers against the run so I cannot see the Cowboys hanging their hats exclusively on DeMarco Murray. Romo will be looking to exploit a Detroit pass defense that is actually not that bad (ranked 13th). Dez Bryant however can make any defense look shabby and that deep threat has to be considered.

On the flipside the Lions don’t have much of a run game to begin with (ranked 28th) which means they will pass early and often as long as Matthew Stafford can stay upright and avoid the pressure that Dallas brought so infrequently this season ranking 27th in sacks. Therefore, this looks like it has the makings of a good ol’ fashioned shootout and who doesn’t love that?!

After perusing the NFL odds in this one I feel the Lions have value as an underdog but the total looks hotter than Adriana Lima strutting the catwalk in her birthday suit. Yeah, me likes the ‘over’ in this NFL pick even though it’s a wee bit high by NFL standards.
