It’s another week of NFL action, and with Week 12 comes some nice NFL Odds values. I have identified three of them that I am adding to my best bets this week.
Andre Johnson O/U 71 ½ receiving yards (Bengals vs. Texans)
With the insertion of Ryan Mallett into the starting quarterback job in Houston, the Texans’ offense looked a little better last week. One of the main benefactors was Andre Johnson, who was fading away with Ryan Fitzpatrick in the starting role. With Mallett last week, Johnson was targeted ten times, and ended the game with seven catches for 68 yards receiving. Although that would have put him under this week’s total, I think he can gather in some more yards this week, and go over the total before us. This season the Bengals secondary has been atrocious for most of the year, and even though they won last week on the road against the Saints, they still gave up over 250 yards passing to Drew Brees. While Mallett is far from Brees, I think playing at home will help him and Johnson enough to cash the over for this prop bet.
My Free NFL Player Props Pick: Johnson OVER 71.5 receiving yards (-120)
Isaiah Crowell TD Scored (Browns vs. Falcons)
Now that the Browns are down Ben Tate again due to his release, they look set to unleash their two rookie running backs on the rest of the NFL. This is probably a good move for Cleveland, and it’s definitely good for this prop bet on Isaiah Crowell. The young Cleveland back has NFL Odds of +125 to score a touchdown this week, and I am all over that. With Tate gone, Crowell is the only back capable of handling either big, or goal line touches in this offense. Terrance West is a solid back, however he is a little smaller that Crowell, and is a much better third down option that Crowell is. Against a team like the Falcons, who have given up 12 rushing touchdowns this season to opposing running backs, I am taking a slight risk with this NFL picks on Crowell, that I think will pay off nicely.
My Free NFL Player Props Pick: Crowell TD Scored (+125)
Martellus Bennett TD Scored (Buccaneers vs. Bears)
Speaking of touchdown props, the Black Unicorn would like to get in on the conversation of hitting pay dirt this week! As the Bears play host to the Bucs, their seasons seemingly already over in regards to the playoffs, they may be able to relax and actually beat up on someone this week. The Tampa Bay Bucs may be one of the worst teams in the NFL, and even with Love Smith returning to the Windy City, I don’t think that’s going to be enough emotion for Tampa. Even though they aren’t bad against the tight end this season, they also haven’t played too many teams with good tight ends. Their last five games have been against Washington, Atlanta, Cleveland, Minnesota and Baltimore, five teams with no real tight end, or an injured one. Their numbers are better than their actual defense is against the tight end, and at -110 the, the sportsbooks know they can’t put the NFL odds on the plus side for fear of getting burned. He already has five touchdowns this season, and a sixth is likely.
