Last Week 4-2 (+6.6 units)

I nailed three out of four games last week and if it weren't for a 4 unit money burner on the Colts plus the points and another two tossed to the wind when we bet them on the money line then we would have had a bang-up weekend. I guess you could say both the Colts and I were out guessed it - Luck!

However, we did cash with the Texans over the Bengals as well as Under in that game for a total of 6 units. We then backed the Pack for 4 units over the Vikings and cashed our final bet of the weekend when the Seahawks cruised to victory over the Redskins for 3 units. We picked up over 6 units on the weekend but it just seemed like we should have done better than that. Well, we didn't so it's off to the divisional playoffs and hoping that our deficit reduction plan continues in the right direction.

Time to bang the book once again boys and girls. Let's start now.

Baltimore Ravens vs. Denver Broncos

The public take on this game is that the Ravens shot their emotional load last weekend when Ray Lewis announced his retirement and Baltimore went out and won one for the Gipper, as it would be Lewis's last home game of his career. And they did just that when they beat the Colts soundly and made a serious dent into my stellar weekend. So what's that mean? Do they stop playing because they won the one that counted and the hell with contending for the Super Bowl? What a crock of crap that is. If they get blown out of the game it won't be because they couldn't muster the enthusiasm. Puh-leeeeze.

The deal here is that while the Broncos have been rolling they have been doing so against lousy teams. Since Denver was routed in early October by New England they have defeated the Chiefs twice, Chargers twice, Panthers, Saints, Browns, Raiders as well as a fast-fading Bucs team. Their most daunting opponents during their current win streak were the Bengals and the Ravens.

This game will be a tough one for Denver particularly if Joe Flacco can continue his connection with Anquan Boldin and target Ray Rice out of the backfield. We say the Ravens will hang tough and we'll grab the points.

NFL Free Picks:  Baltimore +10 ½ (-125) for 3 units at

Green Bay Packers vs. San Francisco 49'ers  *MAX PLAY

Aaron Rodgers versus Colin Kapernick. That's really all you need to know in this one. Earlier this season I would have made this a much closer contest but the emergence of this Packers defense has changed everything for me is. It's coming alive and Rodgers doesn't have to win shootouts any longer.

NFL Free Picks: Green Bay +3 (-120) for 5 units at

Green Bay +135 for 5 units at

Seattle Seahawks vs. Atlanta Falcons

I'm having a tough time with this one. The Falcons have demonstrated their ability to win throughout the season but a lackluster 22-17 loss to the Bucs on their home turf to close out the season has me wondering. Particularly when you contrast them to a highly likeable team in the Seahawks whose punishing defense coupled with an electric young quarterback defeated a wounded RG3 in his own backyard.

I'm going to take a pass on the side here though I will be rooting for the Seahawks. However, I do see a game played between the 30-yard markers with Seattle running the ball and Matty Ice going cold against a red hot 'Hawks defense. Let's bet the Under here.

Free NFL Picks: Under 46 for 3 units at

Houston Texans vs. New England Patriots * MAX PLAY

Off to our last NFL Pick. I cannot envision a game where the Texans lie down like they did the last time against the Pats. However, it wouldn't surprise me if Tom Terrific dissects the Texans as he did in New England's dominating 42-14 victory a month ago. Therefore, we are leaning towards the Texans with the generous head start but adore (is that gay?) the Over.

NFL Free Picks: Over 47 ½ for 5 units at and Houston + 10 for 1 unit at

Ok, good luck with all of those weekend sports picks ladies and gents!
