This line has actually been moving in Jacksonville's favor, as it appears the public thinks this is too many points. However, Doug Upstone is sticking with the 49ers to cover here at Wembley Stadium in London.
Pick: 49ers -16.5
Not the easiest call here, as both teams have been showing signs of life. It's hard to pass up the points, but the Lions are my preferred play on their home turf. Look for another big game out of Matthew Stafford and Megatron.
Pick: Lions -3
Here's another game I capped. These two teams have already met once this season, with the Eagles emerging victorious on the road. For my NFL picks this weekend, however, I'm backing the Giants to show up and cover.
Pick: Giants +6
The Chiefs remain undefeated and now get to entertain Cleveland at home, making it a tremendous possibility they'll be 8-0 after this weekend's over and done with. Joe Freda sees the value on the UNDER 39.5 in this spot though.
Pick: UNDER 39.5
The NFL betting odds have been moving here as well, with the line moving from 12.5 to 10.5. Jason Lake was able to jump on a good number early and is taking Buffalo to cover as near two-touchdown underdogs.
Pick: Bills +12.5 on the NFL odds boards.
A tough loss for Tom Brady and the Patriots last week means they'll be raring to go this Sunday at home to divisional rival Miami. This seems to be a good situation spot for New England and Jason Lake agrees.
Pick: Patriots -7.5 (+120)
We have two cappers on different sides here. The Bengals are favored by nearly a touchdown at home and Steve Merill believes they'll cover. However, Doug Upstone believes the value lies with New York on the road.
Pick: Doug Upstone: Jets +6.5 // Steve Merill: Bengals -6.5
Joe Freda has been gravitating towards a lot of total plays this season and it's no different in Week 8. Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers pay a visit out west and Joe foresees more of a defensive battle than anything else.
Pick: UNDER 40.5
The Redskins have been looking better recently, but I question whether or not they have the offensive muscle to keep up with Peyton Manning and the Broncos. Denver will come out with a point to prove after picking up their first loss.
Pick: Broncos -12
It's been a very forgettable season for Atlanta so far (2-4, 0-2 on the road) and it gets no easier against Arizona this weekend. The Falcons are small underdogs, but David Lawrence is taking a chance on the Cardinals to cover the short number.
Pick: Cardinals -1
Boy was that ugly last Monday. Josh Freeman was terrible and the Vikings looked lost on both sides of the ball. Now they have to face Green Bay, and Jason Lake is of the opinion the Packers will come in and grab an easy win.
Pick: Packers -9.5
Sam Bradford is done for the year, so in steps Kellen Clemens as the starting quarterback. Against that vaunted Seattle defense, it's going to be tough for the Rams to score the ball, so it's no surprise Jordan Sharp is laying the chalk and backing Seattle.
Pick: Seahawks -10.5[gameodds]16/226987/?r-1=19-43-349-192/us[/gameodds]
