We’ve hit Week 6 in the NFL season and already there have been more surprises than usual.

Time to dig into some of the matchups as we offer you the best sports betting value plays for the day.

Philadelphia Eagles (2-3) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-4)

Battle of the Backups

Josh Freeman is no longer a Buccaneer and Mike Glennon is the starting quartberback as the Bucs are still looking for their 1st win of the season. Philadelphia is coming off of a 36-21 victory over the winless Giants which has enabled them to have a share of the lead of the NFC East Division at just 2-3. Michael Vick will be out for this week’s game and Nick Foles will look to continue the spectacular play that earned him and Philly the “W” last week.

Foles went 16 for 25 for 195 yards and 2 touchdowns. DeSean Jackson was the star of the game and added to his 525 yards and 3 touchdowns this season. Where the passing game is concerned, this game could come down to a matchup of Darelle Revis vs. DeSean Jackson. Revis was hoping for big things when getting traded, but it’s backfired as the Buccaneers are winless and the Jets are 3-2; look for Revis to be fired up when facing Jackson.

Another factor in this game will be Tampa Bay’s ability to stop superstar LeSean McCoy. The Bucs are 9th in the NFL against the rush. On the offensive side of the ball for Tampa Bay, there’s little to speak of as they rank 32nd in the NFL in passing and Doug Martin is off to a slow start, averaging 3.4 yards per carry.

The betting total is a bit high at 45 with 2 backup quarterbacks starting. Take the ‘Under’ for your NFL picks.

NFL Pick: Bet the Eagles/Buccaneers game to go UNDER 45 points at Bet365

Pittsburgh Steelers (0-4) at New York Jets (3-2)

Getting Comfortable

New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan has to be happy with the direction that his team has taken after 5 games this season. The Jets are coming off of a huge 30-28 victory over the Atlanta Falcons in Atlanta. Rookie Geno Smith had his best game as a pro, going 16 for 20 with 3 touchdowns and no interceptions. With the decline of the New England Patriots, the division is wide open.

Expect to see a lot of Jeff Cumberland and Jeremy Kerley in this game. Along with the steady rushing of Bilal Powell (330 yards and 1 touchdwon), New York’s offense has done just enough to win. That said, tight end Kellen Winslow Jr. has been suspended due to PED use and that’s one less reliable target for Geno.

No Balance

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has thrown for 789 yards in his last 2 games and it’s equated to 2 losses. Pittsburgh’s running game is their Achilles heel as Felix Jones is their leading rusher on the season with just 74 yards. This offense has become too predictable and Rothlisberger isn’t a quarterback that excels when he’s forced to throw for 400 yards per game. Now, the Steelers face a Jets team that’s 2nd in the NFL against the rush; this should spell trouble for Pittsburgh. Take the Jets at home as they get no respect with "Pick’em" NFL odds.

NFL Pick: New York Jets +1.5 at William Hill

Minnesota Vikings -2 over Carolina Panthers

The Vikings have had time to rest after a big victory over Pittsburgh. Look for Adrian Peterson to have a huge emotional game after the death of his son. AP will be on a mission this week.

Denver Broncos -26.5 over Jacksonville Jaguars

There has never been a point spread this large before and if any team deserved to be the favorite, it’s Denver. The Broncos are coming off of a huge 51-48 victory over the Dallas Cowboys at Dallas. Tony Romo threw for over 500 yards against the Broncos and still couldn’t beat Denver. Jacksonville will get destroyed in this game.

New Orleans Saints +2 over New England Patriots

The combination of Drew Brees to Jimmy Graham has been unstoppable while legendary quarterback Tom Brady can’t find a worthy receiver to throw the ball to. Brady had his consecutive games with a TD thrown snapped in an ugly loss last week against Cincinnati.
