The NFL’s 2015-16 Regular Season is now underway, and Week 2 provides an abundance of great and important games for those who place NFL picks, including the Broncos-Chiefs on Thursday.

Other Week 2 can't miss games include the Patriots-Bills, the Lions-Vikings and the NFC Championship game rematch—the Seahawks-Packers—on Sunday and the Colts-Jets to cap things off on Monday Night Football. So, an abundance indeed. Let’s look at all 16 games for Week 2, the Advanced Lines released last week by the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook, the current Point Spreads—as of Wednesday night—and Totals at the sportsbook, TV coverage, the last results between the two, Trends as well as a couple of NFL picks where warranted.

NFL Week 2 Roundup
Thursday, September 17, 2015
Denver Broncos vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Site: Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, Missouri
Time: 8:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. PT [UK: Friday, September 18—01:30]
TV: CBS/NFL Network
Advanced Line Spread: Chiefs PK (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook, Sept. 9)
Current Point Spread: Chiefs -3
Total: 41½ (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook)
What’s Up: Last season, Kansas City lost in this game, 29-16, as 1-point Underdogs in Week 12, but Trend-wise, the Broncos are 5-1 ATS the L6 here at Arrowhead Stadium against the Chiefs and Denver is 4-1 ATS in the L5 meetings overall. Peyton Manning and the Broncos were also 6-0 vs. AFC West in 2014 and 5-1 ATS.

NFL Picks: Under 42½ (Station Casinos), Broncos Moneyline +153 (Pinnacle)

Sunday, September 20, 2015
Houston Texans vs. Carolina Panthers
Site:
Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, North Carolina
Time: 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT [UK: Sunday, September 20—18:00]
TV: CBS, Directv 706
Advanced Line Spread: Panthers -2 (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook)
Current Point Spread: Panthers -3
Total: 40 (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook)
What’s Up: When these two teams last met back in 2011 in Houston, the Panthers won 28-13 as 5-point Underdogs, while the last time these two met here in the Tar Heel State at Bank of America Stadium, the Texans won 34-21 as 6½-point Underdogs. Texans HC Bill O’Brien (9-7-1 ATS) is reportedly going with Ryan Mallett at QB here over Brian Hoyer and Houston RB arian Foster is still out with an Injury. The Houston Texans (0-1 SU) probably need the win more than Carolina, but with the game on the Road and QB Merry-go-’Round underway in H-Town, hard call now that the number is at (Panthers minus) 3 (Wednesday night). Under if anything, maybe.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New Orleans Saints
Site: Mercedes-Benz Superdome, New Orleans, Louisiana
Time: 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT [UK: Sunday, September 20—18:00]
TV: CBS, Directv 711
Advanced Line Spread: Saints -7 (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook)
Current Point Spread: Saints -10
Total: 47 (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook)
What’s Up: From -7 on the Advanced Line last Wednesday to New Orleans -10 tonight just a week later as perceptions of Jameis Winston as a pro QB combined with the reality of his first NFL Regular Season Road game have made this the highest Point Spread to date. When these two played in Week 5 in this game in the Big Easy last season, the Saints won 37-31 but failed to cover as 11-point Favorites, while New Orleans also won in Week, 23-20, and also failed to cover in that spot as 6-point Favorites. The Buccaneers are 3-1 ATS in their L4 in New Orleans and Tampa Bay is 3-1 ATS in the L4 overall against the Saints.Maybe wait and see where this line ends close to kickoff if contemplating the underdog Bucs.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
Site: Heinz Field, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Time: 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT [UK: Sunday, September 20—18:00]
TV: FOX, Directv 713
Advanced Line Spread: Steelers -7 (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook)
Current Point Spread: Steelers -6
Total: 45 (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook)
What’s Up: The last time these two met here in the Steel City, the Steelers hammered the 49ers, 37-16 and easily covered as 10-point Favorites in 2007, while the last time these two teams met overall was back in 2011 where the 49ers won 20-3 in San Francisco as 3-point favorites. The Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook installed Pittsburgh as 5-point chalks mid-Summer in its’ annual NFL Games of the Year, so some number bouncing from that 5 to last week’s 7 to the 6 now. The 49ers are 5-2 ATS the L7 against Pittsburgh and this seems like an Under game, as detailed in the Preview.

NFL Pick: Under 45½ (The Greek)

Detroit Lions vs. Minnesota Vikings
Site: TCF Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, Minnesota
Time: 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT [UK: Sunday, September 20—18:00]
TV: FOX, Directv 710
Advanced Line Spread: Vikings -2½ (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook)
Current Point Spread: Vikings -2½
Total: 43 (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook)
What’s Up: The Vikings are 6-2 ATS the L8 overall vs. Detroit and Minnesota is 4-1 ATS the L5 here at Ford Field in Detroit, but QB Teddy Bridgewater and RB Adrian Peterson looked subpar against San Francisco in Week 1. Minnesota was shocked and upset here at Home by Matthew Stafford and the Lions last season, 17-3, as 1-point Underdogs and Detroit also won the home-leg in Motown, 16-14, although the Lions failed to cover the 8-point spread that contest. So, just 20 and 30 points in low-scoring, chess-like, important NFC North slug-outs where the Home team is in trouble if they lose. The Lions will have the edges at QB (Stafford) and WR (Calvin Johnson, Golden Tate), but expect the fact it’s the Purple People Eaters Home opener and that Minnesota only scored 3 against the 49ers to affect the way Head Coach Mike Zimmer (10-7 ATS) approaches this game on Sunday afternoon.

NFL Picks: Vikings -2½ (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook), Under 43½ (MGM Mirage)

New England Patriots vs. Buffalo Bills
Site: Ralph Wilson Stadium, Buffalo, New York
Time: 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT [UK: Sunday, September 20—18:00]
TV: CBS, Directv 705
Advanced Line Spread: Patriots -2½ (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook)
Current Point Spread: Patriots -1
Total: 45 (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook)
What’s Up: Last season in this game in Buffalo, the eventual Super Bowl champion Patriots rocked the Bills 37-22 as 1-point Underdogs while Buffalo defeated the Patriots in New England, 17-9, as 5-point Underdogs in Week 17 in a game in which the hosts cared little about winning and more about not getting hurt with the top seed in the AFC Playoffs already secured. The Patriots are 9-2 ATS over the L11 here at Ralph Wilson Stadium against the Bills but with first-year HC Rex Ryan (1-0 ATS) and some new talent, this Buffalo Roster should be more well-equipped to try to handle this perennial division-winner, although a Tom Brady-Tyrod Taylor QB matchup sounds like an auto-lean to the elite, dynasty-rolling Patriots at this price. And with those Trends, especially in a game in which 96.5% of the General Public thought the New England star QB wouldn’t even be playing, New England and WRs Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola and TE Rob Gronkowski (3 TDs vs. Steelers) will again be the difference.

NFL Pick: Patriots -1 (Pinnacle)

Arizona Cardinals vs. Chicago Bears
Site: Soldier Field, Chicago, Illinois
Time: 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT [UK: Sunday, September 20—18:00]
TV: FOX, Directv 709
Advanced Line Spread: Cardinals -3 Even (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook)
Current Point Spread: Cardinals -1½
Total: 46½ (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook)
What’s Up: The last time these two played here was in the 20o9 season and the Cardinals defeated the Bears and almost doubled up on them—41-21—as 2-point Underdogs, while the last time they met on the gridiron was three seasons ago in 2012 at Arizona in Glendale, where Chicago won and easily covered as 7-point favorites (28-13). So, there is no rhyme, nor no reason here and this could be a real tough spot for the Cardinals. The Bears are without Rookie WR Kevin White (West Virginia), likely for the season and the Chicago D needs to keep tabs on Arizona WR John Brown. Bad, bad, Johnny Brown, baddest man in the whole damn town. This is a tough call and could be an enjoyable watch.

Tennessee Titans vs. Cleveland Browns
Site: FirstEnergy Stadium, Cleveland, Ohio
Time: 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT [UK: Sunday, September 20—18:00]
TV: CBS, Directv 708
Advanced Line Spread: Browns -4 (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook)
Current Point Spread: PK
Total: 41½ (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook)
What’s Up: A massive fluctuation—Browns -4 to Pick—from the Advanced Line until tonight (Wednesday), and the visiting Titans may eventually close as favorites by Sunday with Cleveland having so many issues at QB with starter Josh McCown (Concussion) and backup Johnny Manziel (Elbow) both nursing niggles. The last time these two teams played was last season in Nashville where Head Coach Mike Pettine (9-6-1 ATS) and the Browns eked out a 1-point victory (29-28) as 1-point Underdogs to Push the number in Week 5 in the Volunteer State. Trend-wise, the Titans are 4-1 ATS L5 vs. the Browns in Cleveland and with Rookie Marcus Mariota and some momentum, the visitors are the lean and worth a pick here as the Browns may be bad-bad.

NFL Pick: Titans +1 (MGM Mirage)

San Diego Chargers vs. Cincinnati Bengals
Site:
Paul Brown Stadium, Cincinnati, Ohio
Time: 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT [UK: Sunday, September 20—18:00]
TV: CBS, Directv 707
Advanced Line Spread: Bengals -3½ (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook)
Current Point Spread: Bengals -3
Total: 47 (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook)
What’s Up: San Diego and QB Philip Rivers are 4-1 ATS the L5 overall against the Bengals and the last time these two met for real and banged helmets here in Cincinnati was in Week 17 of the 2013 Regular Season where the Bolts routed Cincinnati, 27-10, as 6-point Underdogs and these two teams have played a lot (5 times in 10 years) for not being in the same division. This will be a good game and the Bengals (+2 TO) would be the lean the way they looked in Week 1, although when you opponent is the Raiders, the jury is still out. Still, the Bengals look like one of the top 8 teams in the league for now. Well done, (14-year Head Coach) Marvin Lewis (954-95-9 ATS).

St. Louis Rams vs. Washington Redskins
Site:
 FedEx Field, Landover, Maryland
Time: 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT [UK: Sunday, September 20—18:00]
TV: FOX, Directv 714
Advanced Line Spread: Rams -2½ (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook)
Current Point Spread: Rams -3½ NFL odds
Total: 41 (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook)
What’s Up: The last meeting between these two teams was last season and was here at FedEx Field where the Rams shut out the Redskins, 19-0 as 3-point favorites, so that’s probably where oddsmakers get much of the core of this sold visiting/favorite Point Spread. If you can’t score at Home against a less-than-average team, maybe you suck. The Rams are also 6-1 ATS in their L7 vs. Washington and 4-1 ATS in their L5 trips here and with Redskins WR DeSean Jackson out and Kirk Cousins the man in Washington, prefer the favorite, but in some method with getting that ½ point off the 3—only available right now with -125 juice at William Hill. Lean Rams.

Atlanta Falcons vs. New York Giants
Site: MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey
Time: 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT [UK: Sunday, September 20—18:00]
TV: FOX, Directv 712
Advanced Line Spread: Giants -2½ (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook)
Current Point Spread: Giants -2½
Total: 51 (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook)
What’s Up: The Falcons are an impressive 6-2 ATS in their L8 here at MetLife Stadium against New York and both Atlanta QB Matt Ryan (30-28 ATS on Road) and the Giants Eli Manning (42-48-1 ATS at Home) are unpredictable. Maybe the Over? The last time these two teams played was last season where the G-Men won and covered as 4-point Favorites here at Home (30-20). Falcons WR Julio Jones—who was absolutely phenomenal on MNF vs. the Eagles—is listed as Probable, and expect him to go.

Baltimore Ravens vs. Oakland Raiders
Site:
O.co Coliseum, Oakland, California
Time: 4:05 p.m. ET/1:05 p.m. PT [UK: Sunday, September 20—21:05]
TV: CBS, Directv 716
Advanced Line Spread: Ravens -4 (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook)
Current Point Spread: Ravens -6
Total: 43 (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook)
What’s Up: This number may rise to -7 by game-time, and for good reason. The Ravens need a win here and the Raiders looked pretty ineffective in Week 1 here at Home against the Bengals. The favored Ravens (EDT) will be playing with Body Clocks 3 hours behind the host Raiders (PDT), meaning that the late (mental) start, the Road site and the +6 points are all checks in Raiders boxes. And the addition of WRs Michael Crabtree (Free Agent, 49ers) and Rookie Amari Cooper (Alabama, Round 1 Draft Pick) will be good for QB David Carr (Probable) and should definitely help open up the Oakland Rushing attack. But the Black and Silver didn;t earn this reputation overnight and they still look like a Bottom 5 NFL team. RB Justin Forsett (Probable) and QB Joe Flacco should find a way to get the ‘W’ here, but covering the 6 now? The last meeting between the two was in Baltimore in 2012 where the Tackling Edgar Allan Poes pasted the Raiders, 55-20 as 7½-point Favorites, covering the Point Spread by 27½ points, while the last time these two teams played here in Oakland was in 2009 in Week 17 when Baltimore won 21-13 but failed to get the money as 10½-point chalks. With the Ravens 9-2 ATS the L11 overall against Oakland, you can see why this number is where it’s at, but there may be better games.

Miami Dolphins vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Site:
Everbank Field, Jacksonville, Florida
Time: 4:05 p.m. ET/1:05 p.m. PT [UK: Sunday, September 20—21:05]
TV: CBS, Directv 715
Advanced Line Spread: Dolphins -6 (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook)
Current Point Spread: Dolphins -6
Total: 41½ (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook)
What’s Up: This Battle of the Sunshine State will see Ryan Tannehill (10-13 ATS on Road) and the Miami Dolphins facing Blake Bortles (3-3 ATS at Home) and the Jacksonville Jaguars in this soirée. The last time these two met was last season where the Dolphins beat the Jaguars, 27-13, covering the 7-point spread here in Jacksonville and the Dolphins are 3-0 ATS L3 as well as 3-0 ATS L3 on the Road here at EverBank Field in J-Town. New Free Agent-signee (Broncos) TE Julius Thomas is out with an Injury (Hand) for the Jaguars.

NFL Pick: Dolphins -6 (Pinnacle)

Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Site:
Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Time: 4:25 p.m. ET/1:25 p.m. PT [UK: Sunday, September 20—18:25]
TV: FOX, Directv 717
Advanced Line Spread: Eagles -4 (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook)
Current Point Spread: Eagles -5
Total: 55½ (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook)
What’s Up: Dallas WR Dez Bryant (Broken Bone in Foot) is out for who knows how long—a couple of weeks to maybe 6 weeks—and the star Cowboys WR will be missing this NFC East showdown. When these two met here last season in the City of Brotherly Love, Dallas won 38-27 as 3-point Underdogs in Week 15. The Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook 2015 NFL Games of the Year opened the Eagles as 2½-point Home Favorites in this one, so, you can see perceptions of Philadelphia improving and Dallas declining prevail for now. The Cowboys are 3-0 ATS in their L4 here in Philadelphia and Dallas is 3-1 ATS in the L4 meetings overall with the Eagles. With QBs Tony Romo and Sam Bradford flinging the ball so much in Week 1, the Over looks like the Rx here. The storyline, besides the Eagles need the Win? RB DeMarco Murray (2 TDs vs. Falcons) against the team that let him go via Free Agency.

NFL Pick: Over 55 (Pinnacle)

Seattle Seahawks vs. Green Bay Packers
Site:
Lambeau Field, Green Bay, Wisconsin
Time: 8:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. PT [UK: Monday, September 21—01:30]
TV: NBC
Advanced Line Spread: Packers -3 Even (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook)
Current Point Spread: Packers -3½
Total: 49 (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook)
What’s Up: Green Bay WR Jordy Nelson (Knee) is out for the entire season , so partner in crime WR Randall Cobb will have to carry more weight for Green Bay. This rematch of last year’s NFC Championship Game is the biggest game on the Week 2 schedule and the last time they met here in Brown County (2009), the Cheeseheads pummeled Seattle, 48-10, easily covering the Point Spread as 13.5-point Favorites. The Packers are 3-1-1 ATS in their L5 against the Seahawks here at Lambeau Field and the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook 2015 NFL Games of the Year opened the Packers up at -3 Even. So, a very small change, but a significant tick up off that Key Number of (minus) 3. With SS Kam Chancellor still holding out and the Seahawks stinging from that late loss to the Rams in St. Louis in Week 1, the feel here is to take the Packers at Home if anything. One of the best games on the 2015/16 NFL Regular Season schedule.

Monday, September 21, 2015
New York Jets vs. Indianapolis Colts
Site:
Lucas Oil Field, Indianapolis, Indiana
Time: 8:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. PT [UK: Tuesday, September 22—01:30]
TV: ESPN/WatchESPN, Directv 206
Advanced Line Spread: Colts -9½ (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook)
Current Point Spread: Colts -7
Total: 47 (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook)
What’s Up: Significant movement downward from the Advanced Line (-9½) to now (-7) and with New York winning in Week 1 (Browns) and Indianapolis looking disappointing and losing (Bills), the perceptions shape that numerical reality. Plus, Indianapolis may have problems on Defense and on the OL while the Jets may have bolstered their Roster more in the Offseason than any other NFL team. Ryan Fitzpatrick (Free Agent, Texans) is the New York QB with presumed starter Geno Smith still out after getting bopped in the beak by a teammate he owed money to. So, Always pay your debts kiddies. And speedy Colts WR TY Hilton is also reportedly out here with a bruised Left Knee—he may miss 1-2 games—so Indianapolis QB extraordinaire Andrew Luck (17-6-2 ATS Home, 73.9% win percentage) will have to work the TEs and RBs. The last time these two teams met was in 2012 at MetLife Stadium where the Colts were dismantled, 35-9, as 3-point underdogs, while the last time these two met here in Naptown was in the Playoffs in 2010 where the host Indianapolis lost the Jets, 17-16 as 2-point Favorites. The Jets and CB Darrelle Revis are 6-2 ATS in their L8 overall against the Colts, while on Monday Night Football lifetime heading in here, the Colts are 8-3 ATS as a Home Favorite while the Jets are an impressive 11-4 ATS as a Road underdog. This one should be very entertaining.

NFL Week 2 Picks—Sides: Vikings -2½ over Lions (Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook); Patriots -1 over Bills (Pinnacle); Titans +1 over Browns (MGM Mirage); Dolphins -6 over Jaguars (Pinnacle)

NFL Week 2 Picks—Totals: Broncos-Chiefs Under 42 ½ (Station Casinos); 49ers-Steelers Under 45½ (The Greek); Vikings-Lions Under 43½ (MGM Mirage); Cowboys-Eagles Over 55 (Pinnacle)

NFL Week 2 Underdog Moneyline Pick: Denver Broncos +153 over Kansas City Chiefs (Pinnacle)
