Let's focus our attention on what the NFL odds makers are offering and look to repeat a stellar performance from last week in our Week 13 NFL picks.
49ers +7 ½ (-125) vs. Bears
The Niners played the Cardinals tough last week and put plenty of pressure on Carson Palmer while the Bears stunned the Packers on Turkey Day at Lambeau. Yet, the Bears are averaging just 21 points per game (tied for 24th) and have had issues with their offensive line. The 49ers are better with Blaine Gabbert and should be able to keep this one within a touchdown.
NFL Picks: Play San Francisco +7 ½ at Pinnacle
Bengals vs. Browns +10 ½ (-135)
The last time the NFL odds makers installed the Browns as home underdogs against Cincinnati was back in 2013 and those dogs had plenty of bite as the Brownies defeated the Cats 17-16. Yet earlier this season the Bengals took care of business by the score of 31-10 in the Queen City but that game was tight until the fourth quarter. Bengals' tight end Tyler Eifert had three TD's in that contest but he will be sidelined for this one. Watch the Brownies keep it close in the Dawg Pound.
NFL Picks: Play Cleveland +10 ½ (-135) at 5Dimes
Jaguars vs. Titans -2 ½
So who do you love, Blake Bortles or Marcus Mariota? There's little to choose from between these two teams but the Titans have the home field advantage and revenge on their mind from a 19-13 loss in Jacksonville two weeks ago. Tennessee also has a tremendous pass rush that will keep Bortles ducking for cover.
NFL Picks: Play the Titans -2 ½ at YouWager
Texans +3 ½ vs. Bills
The Texans are improving while the Bills are self-destructing. The only thing that concerns me about including Houston in our NFL picks is that the line is moving off the three and sits now at +3 ½ in some shops. That is a huge number to move off of for obvious reasons and it illustrates clearly that Buffalo is getting action. Bottom line is that the Bills won't be able to run on this Texans' defense and we all know they can't pass. Houston's offense is not the best but their defense is so good right now I can't overlook it and will grab the points.
NFL Picks: Play the Texans +3 ½ at BetOnline
Ravens vs. Dolphins -3 ½
Remember how good the Fins looked immediately after Dan Campbell took over? They won two straight and the sun was shining again in South Beach. However, they reverted to their previous form and have dropped four of five. But redemption is nigh and it comes in the form of the hapless Ravens who are better than nobody and that includes Miami.
NFL Picks: Play the Dolphins -3 ½ at GTBets
Panthers vs. Saints +7 (-120)
Does anyone outside of Charlotte truly believe the Panthers will go 16-0? Is it possible, nay even probable that Cam Newton gets caught up in his own press clippings? Listen here kids, the National Football Lottery is a fickle mistress and this is just the kind of game the top dogs can lose as they look to another divisional rival next week in the Atlanta Falcons.
NFL Picks: Play the Saints +7 (-120) at Bovada
Seahawks vs. Vikings +2
Seattle was lucky to get the cover last week against the Steelers and was actually outgained by more than 100 yards in that contest. The Seahawks will be without superstar tight end Jimmy Graham and Adrian Peterson will spend much of his day trying to bust up that run stop unit for the Hawks. Just in case he gets in trouble Teddy Bridgewater will be throwing early and often to his tight end Kyle Rudolph as Seattle has been unable to contain tall bodied receivers all season long.
NFL Picks: Play Minnesota +2 at Heritage
Cardinals -4 vs. Rams
I had a crush on the Rams earlier this season. I thought that Nick Foles might have a rebirth and I raved about their defense. I was jilted on both counts. The Cards will not overlook St. Louis here after losing in the desert back in October. Bet the better team here and watch them win by a touchdown or more.
NFL Picks: Play the Cardinals -4 at Pinnacle
Falcons (+1) vs. Buccaneers
Is it any wonder why the Falcons are getting no love from the public while getting no respect from the oddsmakers? They have failed to cover for seven straight freakin' weeks. But the irony is that the team is actually better than average but their proclivity to make mistakes, take bad penalties and even get jobbed on bad calls has been fascinating to watch as long as you haven't bet them. They are a better team than the Bucs and they break their dubious streak on Sunday.
NFL Picks: Play the Falcons +1 at JustBet
Jets -1 (-125) vs. Giants
The Battle of Gotham's latest chapter will be written this Sunday and the Jets will soar over Big Blue. Quite frankly the Jets are doing everything better than the Gee Men and in a game where both teams have the home field advantage we cannot help but believe that the Jets may in fact be the best bet of the week.
NFL Picks: Play the Jets -1 (-125) at 5Dimes
Broncos vs. Chargers +4 ½
The Chargers are due for a letdown after their enormous win last week over the previously undefeated New England Patriots. San Diego is another team that has more talent than their record would indicate and will most likely get the Broncos flat as a pancake for this one.
NFL Picks: Play the Chargers +4 ½ (-115) at Bovada
Chiefs vs. Raiders +3
Be very careful here Joe Q. Public. We know that you know Kansas City has not only won but covered the number on five straight occasions but that streak ends here as the Raiders will get well at home against a Chiefs defense without the services of the immense Justin Houston.
NFL Picks: Play the Raiders +3 (-120) at YouWager
Eagles +10 vs. Patriots
The Pats lost their first game of the season last week and the absence of star players is finally taking a toll. This could be a letdown game for the Patriots with an anemic Philly squad coming into Foxboro. I can see New England trying to get their running game on track and keeping Brady safe by having him hand off more than usual. Not a huge fan of this game to bet but if you must
NFL Picks: Play the Eagles +10 at YouWager
Colts +7 ½ vs. Steelers
So let me get this straight. The Colts, under the steady hand of Matt Hasselbeck, have won three straight and covered their last four and you are going to give me more than a touchdown head start against a team with an identical record? Okay, I'll bite.
NFL Picks: Play the Colts +7 ½
Cowboys +4 ½ vs. Redskins
There is not much separating these divisional rivals therefore if I get to bet Dallas with a four-point head start then why not? Yes, Romo is finished - again - but the Cowboys defense is decent and they have a run game that could pose a problem for their hosts.
NFL Picks: Play the Cowboys +4 ½ at Bovada
