While you might be tempted to place certain bets for NFL week 10, find out which of this weeks matchups could be a total disaster for your NFL picks.

With the NFL season having progressed to this point, we start heading deeper into November and for a lot of people, the first chill of winter is here. For those making NFL picks and looking over the betting odds, I have three contests you should avoid like a bad cold.

Seattle in Revenge Mode, but are they Sassy Enough

While there was much jubilation the Seahawks engineered their best-ever come from behind victory, it was against winless Tampa Bay at home.  Seattle might be 7-1, yet they are 1-4 ATS in their past five games and too often appear disinterested for portions of games.

It would seem the Seahawks would want a measure of revenge against Atlanta, who knocked them out the playoffs last season. Yet, given their inability to focus for 60 minutes, one cannot help but wonder about a nearly touchdown road favorite.

After being one of the “cleanest” offensive teams the last several years, Atlanta has eight turnovers in their last two games and are 1-5 SU and ATS since Sept. 22. Find it hard to make a definitive sports pick either way.

Does San Diego Step Up or Sit Back Against Denver?

With first and two feet from winning at Washington, San Diego offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt called arguably the three worst plays any team will this season and the Chargers settled for a tying field goal and lost in OT.

With professional football a week to week league, the NFL football handicapper is left to contemplate what if any carryover affect this might have on San Diego, who has given away games to Houston and Tennessee previously this season.

Denver returns to the gridiron off a bye week and lost their head coach John Fox in the interim with a health issue. The Broncos opened as a solid seven-point favorite at most sportsbooks, but the players will be listening to a different voice in Jack Del Rio and what impact that has is difficult to imagine. This might be a good game to walk away from.

AFC North Quarterbacks Cause Consternation in Matchup

It goes without saying Baltimore’s Joe Flacco had a bad day at the office when he lost for the first in his career to Cleveland was out-played by journeyman Jason Campbell. Flacco has not adjusted well without Anquan Bolden and TE Dennis Pitta and has 10 touchdowns and nine picks on the season.

It does not help the high-priced Flacco the Ravens offensive line has given him little help in run and pass blocking.

The NFL odds say Cincinnati is the favorite. After a series of quality performances, Andy Dalton regressed and was part of the reason the Bengals lost to Miami. Dalton was a big part of the team’s four-game winning streak and might have been due for somewhat off-night (still threw for 302 yards), but his lesser showings tend to have more of an impact on his team similar to the Cleveland loss. Play it if you like, but I will be avoiding.
