Follow us as we go over all the playoff results from wildcard weekend, reviewing the outcomes and how each game performed on the NFL betting floor.

NFL Playoffs: Round 1, Wildcard Week Recap
With the first round of the playoffs in the books, the favourites took a 3-1 SU edge over the underdogs as well, home favourites took the 3-1 SU edge over away teams. Over-under betting went 1-2-1 according to closing totals across sportsbook platforms.

Saturday Wildcard Betting Results
The Arizona Cardinals and Carolina Panthers got the playoffs underway on Saturday. Despite public betting trends going against the Panthers, they emerged the 27-16 winners, cashing as the -250 SU favourites at home and the 5.5-point home chalk. The game opened on a 4.5-point spread but quickly climbed to 5.5-point, at which price-point it eventually closed. NFL betting trends revealed the public was split down the middle 50-50 on both sides of the coin in spread betting markets. And, most interesting, 61% were backing the Cardinals as the road underdogs to win SU at +210 NFL Odds or thereabouts and 54% were backing the UNDER 37.5 total.

The second game on the day pit AFC North rivals Ravens and Steelers in a highly-anticipated showdown and it didn't disappoint. Although the Steelers had the game cornered on the NFL odds board and the bulk of the public betting, it was the sixth seed Ravens, matched at +143 NFL odds to win SU and as the 3-point road pups, who took the 30-17 road win, serving up the first upset of the playoffs at Heinz Arena. Indeed, the Ravens burst out of the blocks with determination and focus and from the second quarter onwards they never looked to be in doubt putting up 10 points per quarter to take the convincing win. Had it not been for a late safety scored in the game which pushed the total, UNDER bettors would have cashed on the closing total of 47 across sportsbooks. Naturally, OVER bettors, who weighed in early total odds of 45-to-46.5 happily cashed on the OVER on their NFL picks.

Sunday Wildcard Betting Recap
The Bengals and Colts got us underway on Sunday in another highly-anticipated showdown between two franchise quarterbacks. NFL betting trends revealed an overwhelming slant towards the Indianapolis Colts, with 69% backing the Colts as the -4-point home chalk, a whopping 76% (the highest consensus of the week) backing the Colts as the -200 home favourites (depending on your sportsbook of choice) and 62% of the public backing the OVER 47. For the most part, the Colts came through for their backers in a 26-10 win over the Bengals, cashing both SU and ATS. Only UNDER bettors cashed in on their NFL picks with the score a far-cry off the total.

Finally, the NFC showdown between the Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys in Sunday Night primetime football closed the wildcard round. Once again, the hyped-up clash didn't disappoint. Both teams had historical playoff hurdles to overcome and a lot to prove. The Lions stormed to a 17-7 lead at halftime, prompting many NFL bettors, particularly those participating in live betting, to contemplate the potential of another upset in the playoffs. Tale told, Tony Romo and Cowboys rallied to take the 24-20 win, cashing as the solid -300 SU favourites but, at the same time, coming up short as the 7-point home chalk. What's more, the score came just shy of the 48-point closing total across sports betting platforms. Lions' backers cashed on their NFL picks as the 7-point road pups, small consolation for yet another failed outing in the postseason.
