We’ve been tearing up our NFL & NBA Picks lately, and hopefully it can continue today with one of the final weeks of the NFL season. Here are my two last minute NFL Picks for the Week 16 slate.

Packers vs. Cardinals
In what could be one of the more entertaining games of Week 16, the Cardinals play host to the Packers in an NFC showdown. The NFL odds board have the Cardinals as -5½ favorites up from -4, and while I do think the Packers have been playing better over the last three or four weeks, it’s been against inferior competition compared to the number one offense in the NFL. The Cardinals have so many weapons that the beleaguered Packers defense likely won’t be able to keep up this Sunday afternoon. Green Bay’s season seemingly could have had a happy ending this season, and while they still might make the playoffs, a loss this week might put that in jeopardy. The Cardinals secondary is good enough to turn Aaron Rodgers over once or twice, as well as hold him down to reasonable passing numbers here on the road this week.

Both teams are dealing with some injury question marks that we should know the answer to within the next few hours, and while the Cards have some defensive line problems, the Packers are dealing with some injuries to the offensive line. David Bakhtiari is still listed as questionable headed into this one, and if Rodgers is without his starting left tackle, and with Josh Sitton already a little banged dup but probable there on the left side, the Cardinals are going to give them some issues of Frostee Rucker is ready to go this week.

Patriots vs. Jets
Speaking of marquee conference matchups, the Jets and Patriots are squaring off this week from the Meadowlands, and the NFL Odds have the Jets as +2½ home dogs, with a total of 45 points. I’m surprised this spread has seen the movement it has, but if you think back to this time last season, the Patriots barely escaped the Meadowlands with a win against the Jets 17-16, so New York covering here with a much better team than last year isn’t so much out of the question.

However, the better play in this game might be the total, which is still sitting at the 45 points it opened at. We know about the injuries to the Patriots on offense, but either way I still think they could put up some points this week against the Jets secondary. As long as Tom Brady is protected from this relentless pass rush, points will be scored.

On the flip side, the Jets have their best offense is years, or maybe even decades, and they have already proven to be reliable, even against the improving defense of the Patriots. They almost beat New England earlier in the season, and while they may beat them this week, the over is where I am going with my NFL pick on this game. The Patriots have cashed the over in five of their seven road games this season, and I see a final score approaching what we saw in the first meeting between these two. 27-24 is my final prediction for this one, so take the over and add it to your NFL Picks.
