As everyone prepares their final NFL picks, check out two favorites who we think are worth laying the chalk for today.

Buffalo Bills vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Both the Steelers and Bills come in having lost two straight games, with Buffalo losing to New Orleans and Kansas City and Pittsburgh falling to Oakland and New England.

For today, the Steelers are roughly field-goal favorites at home, though you can also find a line of 2.5 if you act fast. The NFL odds show a total of either 43 or 43.5.

And while it's been an incredibly disappointing season for Pittsburgh fans, we think they'll win and cover the spread this week.

Returning back home will be beneficial for the Steelers, who had been on the road for two straight. In their most recent home matchup, they overcame Baltimore in a hard-fought 19-16 victory, a game in which they were favored by 2.5, much like today.

That's not the biggest reason we like Pittsburgh though. The Steelers were knocked around by Tom Brady and the Patriots last week and we feel as if they'll want to come out and prove they're not going to just pack it in.

Ben Roethlisberger and the offense was able to move the ball well against New England. It was the defense that really let them down. We look for the Steelers to show some pride against EJ Manuel and the Bills.

It's a little tough to get behind either one of these teams at the moment, but Pittsburgh is due for a bounce-back performance and this situational spot sets up nicely for them. We'll therefore add the Steelers to our sports picks for the day.

Free Pick: Pittsburgh Steelers -2.5

Carolina Panthers vs. San Francisco 49ers

The second favorite we are rallying behind is the 49ers, who will host the red-hot Panthers at home in Week 10.

San Francisco opened as a 6.5-point favorite, but there's been a slight shift, with current NFL betting lines listing the 49ers at 5.5 now. Both teams have been getting the job done in the betting world, with the home team at 6-2 SU and 6-2 ATS and Carolina at 5-3 SU and 5-3 ATS.

Now we understand the Panthers have won four in a row, with an average margin of victory of 20.5 points, while covering in all four of the wins.

However, the 49ers are on an even better roll, capturing wins in five straight matchups both straight up and against the number. They've beaten Houston (34-3) and Arizona (32-20) at home and St. Louis (35-11) and Tennessee (31-17) on the road, while they also smashed Jacksonville (42-10) in London.

This is a showdown between two of the best defenses in the NFL. The Panthers have been outstanding, ranking number three in total defense, thanks in large part to a monster front seven that's allowing only 79.1 rushing yards per game. As for the 49ers, they're ranked seventh in the league in total defense.

San Francisco holds the edge for our NFL picks, because they're at home and have had an extra week of preparation for Cam Newton and company. You better believe Jim Harbaugh has used that time wisely as he looks to lead his team to its sixth consecutive victory.

With that being said, let's put our faith in the 49ers to win by six or more inside Candlestick Park.

Free Pick: San Francisco 49ers -5.5
