We didn’t do too shabby on our NFL Week 9 picks, but we could have done better. It’s the nature of NFL betting, one of the hardest sports to predict. But we aren’t deterred, so here goes as we attempt to improve our record in week 10 and deliver some value plays for your consideration.
Eagles +110 (+1.0, -110) @ Packers -120 (-1,-110)
Analysis: With Aaron Rodgers most likely out due to a broken collarbone, Philadelphia Eagles have a great opportunity to get one over the Packers in week 10 NFL picks, especially seeing that Nick Foles is in fine form – light up the scoreboard he did last week in a 49-20 routing of the Raiders while throwing a record-tying seven touchdowns – and the Packers’ secondary is leaking yards like nobody’s business, 250.5 yards per game to be exact (if you were wondering). While offense has been good all year for the Eagles defense hasn’t and that could prove to be the deciding factor when all is said and done. To put a finer point on it, they allowed 560 yards against the Raiders in that sensational win. Still with an offense that ranks third in the NFL for yards per play, solid passing offense and with one of the top rushing offenses in the league, the Eagles should be able to hold off an Aaron Rodgers-less Packers.
NFL Free Picks: Eagles to win straight up and cover
What we learned last week from our NFL Week 9 picks is that the Atlanta Falcons are really bad. So bad that it’s just better to bet against them. Simple as that. And with a superior team in Seattle descending on the Falcons in week 10, betting on the straight up win couldn’t be more straightforward: Seahawks all the way at -235 NFL odds at Bet365.
The only question now left to consider here is whether we can trust the Seahawks to cover the 5-point spread on the road. It’s no secret the Seahawks (8-1, 4-1) can be shaky on the road, struggling to win convincingly. They are 3-2-0 ATS on the road. Last week they struggled to beat a hapless Buccaneers side at home, which has some sports bettors nervy. But eventually they did, erasing a 20-point deficit to clinch the 27-24 victory, a come from behind win that should galvanize them against a Falcons side that seemingly failed to launch off the ground this season. Keep in mind the Falcons are also 2-6-0 ATS overall this season, 2-2-0 at home.
NFL Picks: Seattle Seahawks to win and cover
It is really hard to bet against Denver (7-1, 2-1 away) this season given how well they are playing both at home and on the road, the only hiccup a 39-33 defeat at Indianapolis. Never mind the numbers they’ve been putting up on the road – their game totals are pushing the over each and every time – they are 8-0-0 on the Over/Under overall this season. Speaking of which, the game totals for this clash are set at a measly 57.5 Over/Under??? What??
Put all that against a Chargers (4-4, 2-1 home) side that has been so-so this season and is coming off a defeat to Washington Redskins on the road, 30-24 in overtime, a result that snapped their two-game winning streak, and you have another straightforward bet before you. Granted, Chargers offense can do some damage and will try to keep pace with Peyton Manning but that’s about as good as it’s going to get surely.
