Are the Seahawks ready to win another road game? People making sports picks know that they’ll have to play better this time around. Let's look at the NFL odds for the match-up.

NFL Football Betting

The Seattle Seahawks were immensely fortunate to walk away from Houston last Sunday with a victory. The Seahawks trailed 20-3 in the second half and were being thoroughly outplayed. They were outgained by more than 200 yards and surrendered 20 points in one quarter (the second). Their offense was anemic and their defense proved to be spotty. Yes, they’re 4-0, but they’re not a strong 4-0 the way the Denver Broncos are. Seattle is just a three-point favorite in Indianapolis against the Colts, who hammered Seattle’s main division rival, San Francisco, on the road two weeks ago. Are the Seahawks ready to win another road game?

Seattle Seahawks @ Indianapolis Colts

Odds: Seattle -3

The Seahawks can win because…

They are soaring with confidence at the moment. When you can come from 17 points down to win a road game in overtime, shutting out the opposing offense in the second half and the overtime period, you’re a special kind of team. You’re also going to believe in yourself to degrees not previously imagined. There is such a strong kind of trust throughout this Seattle roster. Players pick each other up in moments of adversity. If one player makes a mistake, others cover for him. If the team sinks in one quarter, it comes back firing the next. The defense is good enough to carry the offense for three quarters, and the offense has found a way to score in the fourth quarter in the team’s two road wins this season. The Seahawks do just enough to get the job done each week and that’s a quality which is not easy to replicate throughout the NFL. Only a few teams are able to find that secret sauce each season. The Seahawks have it and that’s why they’re worth a bet with your NFL picks each week.

The Colts can win because…

Their opponent just doesn’t play well on offense on the road. Facts are facts – Seattle’s offense might be 2-0 on the road this season, but that’s because of the Seahawks’ defense and little else. The Seahawks scored 12 points at Carolina in week one, but the team won because the defense allowed just seven points to Carolina. Last week, a 23-20 win over Houston simply would not have happened if the Seahawks had not produced a game-tying pick-six inside the final three minutes of regulation. Seattle’s offense was responsible for only 13 points in regulation time against Houston, and only 16 in nearly five full quarters of play. Unless or until this offense demonstrates that it can execute at a high level on the road, Seattle should still be viewed with skepticism. It cannot move the ball anywhere near as well as Denver’s offense can. It’s not as good an offense as the one owned by Green Bay or New Orleans when road games are part of the equation. Seattle is still too reliant on its home crowd; away from home, this is a shaky offense, one the Colts should be able to stop.

Outlook & NFL Football Betting Prediction:

The Colts’ offense, with Trent Richardson now in the mix at running back, is balanced and formidable. The Seahawks’ offense probably won’t be able to keep pace on Sunday afternoon. Take the Colts to cover the NFL odds.
