Free NFL picks for the Week 9 battle between the Baltimore Ravens and the Cleveland Browns. Have we found any holes in the NFL odds worth exploiting with our sports picks this week?

The Cleveland Browns came away with a third straight loss in last week’s 23-17 defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs, while holding on to cash as a seven-point road dog. Sunday’s NFL action has Rob Chudzinski’s club returning home against the Baltimore Ravens.

Stay on top of the latest line movement with our NFL Picks: Week 9 Odds Report.

Browns fall short in K.C.

Cleveland was unable to rally from an early 13-0 deficit against Kansas City, while controlling the ball for a subpar 24 minutes of possession. Browns quarterback Jason Campbell found wide out Josh Gordon for one of two touchdowns through the air, finishing with 293 passing yards in a 22-for-36 day.

Gordon notched a team-high five catches, while running back Willis McGahee was held to 28 rushing yards on nine carries. Cleveland reached the Chiefs’ red zone just once, while coming away with nine penalties on both sides of the ball (70 yards).

Browns defensive mates T.J. Ward and Craig Robertson logged 10 tackles each, while the duo registered two of its crew’s six sacks. The battle’s combined 40 points stretched above the ‘total’ of 39 thanks to a late field goal from Kansas City, giving OVER backers the money with 17 seconds left.

Ravens return after slide

Baltimore last saw action on Oct. 20, edged by the Pittsburgh Steelers in a 19-16 defeat as a 2 ½-point road dog. The Ravens trailed until the 1:58 mark of the fourth quarter, tying the duel with a touchdown pass from quarterback Joe Flacco – while later giving up a game-clinching field goal.

Flacco completed 24-of-34 attempts, guiding his offense to 19 first downs in its 29 minutes with the ball. Ravens running back Ray Rice logged a combined 72 yards of rushing and receiving, making 15 carries and four catches.

Baltimore’s Terrell Suggs notched one of his side’s three sacks, while finishing with a team-high six tackles. The tight affair’s 35 points ducked beneath the ‘total’ of 41, moving the UNDER to 5-1 in the Ravens’ last six contests.

Back the Browns as home dogs

NFL odds opened Baltimore as a three-point road favorite, while first listing the ‘total’ at 40 ½. Early sports betting action on Cleveland and the OVER shifted the numbers to 2 ½ and 41, respectively.

I am adding Cleveland as a short dog here to Sunday’s NFL picks, looking for the Browns to bark at the betting windows.

Cleveland has fought tough against AFC North foes, giving up 10 PPG in its two matchups with that stretch of rivals. The span included last month’s 14-6 road defeat against the Ravens, setting up for a revenge spot at the “Dawg Pound.”

Baltimore slid into its bye week with a third loss in four games, while failing to cash in its sole contest as a road favorite against the Buffalo Bills. The Ravens have had their share of home-road disparity, allowing a sizable 28.5 PPG in opposing stadiums.

Cleveland has a 3-2 spread record in its five contests this year as an underdog of 1 ½ points or more, including outright wins over the Cincinnati Bengals and Minnesota Vikings. Look for the Browns to squeak out a cover here, ending their losing streak against Baltimore.

NFL Pick:  Cleveland Browns +2 ½ at Bet365
