We close out week 7 with a Monday Night Football Showdown that is expected by many to be a cakewalk for the Cardinals. But at +10 odds are the Ravens better bets for our NFL Picks?

Baltimore Ravens vs. Arizona Cardinals (-10) 8:30 ET ESPN
The 1-5 SU ATS Baltimore Ravens travel west for their 5th road game in 7 weeks (and 4th game in Mountain or Western time zones) to face the 4-2 SU ATS Arizona Cardinals.  It would appear to be a bad situation for the Baltimore Ravens as no 1-5 SU NFL team has ever made the playoffs.   Arizona comes off a loss, a situation that has been like money in the bank of late.  At least that’s the way much of the public views this contest, as they have pushed this opening line from (-7) to as high as (-10-) in some sports books.  You know by now, that certainly puts us on the side of the Baltimore Ravens in this game.

Simply can’t remember an early season schedule that has been as challenging as the one laid out for the Baltimore Ravens in this early season.  There has been tremendous travel to the west for Baltimore, who has gone 0-3 SU ATS in those games in Mountain or Western time zones.  Last week, with a (-2) net TO margin, they lost at San Fran (25-20), despite both outrushing and out-passing the 49ers.  From a fundamental perspective, the Ravens would appear to have the worst of it, as the Cards are superior offensively and defensively in all key categories.  More specifically, there are key edges for the Cards at WR and in the defensive back field in both quality and depth.  It seems unlikely the Black Birds, who may have tossed the towel already are able to rebound against such a quality foe.  History, however, says this is a proud team with solid leadership who won’t give up!  The tandem of HC Harbaugh and QB Flacco has made the playoffs 6/7 years.  They have been at their best in 2 of their roles this evening, standing 20-10 SU ATS in non-con games and 7-2 SU ATS under the MNF lights.  More impressive, when considering tonight’s game, is that none of the Ravens’ losses has been by more than 6 points.

Arizona enters following their 2nd loss of the season.  This came despite QB Palmer lighting up the Pittsburgh secondary for 414 PY. But, you and I both know that it is the more telling stats of running yards and TOs that dictate Ws and Ls.  Last week, Pittsburgh was (+3) in the net TO margin and outrushed Arizona 32/141 to 20/55.  The win by the Steelers was well deserved and expected, by this bureau at least.  For much like this week, Arizona was among the most publicly loved teams on the board.  The public has plenty of ammunition for this with HC Arians standing 33-15 ATS in his coaching career, including 11-2 ATS following a loss.  A now healthy veteran QB Palmer is on a run of 19-5 SU, 18-6 ATS.  Of equal importance to this bureau is the great improvement in the Arizona running game, which is now averaging 122/4.7 overland, a vast improvement from seasons past.

Plenty of reasons to back the Cards here!  Despite all their good numbers, there is now an over ration in this betting line.  I invite you to join me and the Lone Ranger (we won with Tennessee for our 6th contrary win in 7 weeks) in this special contrary selection on MNF.  Put the generous NFL odds in your favor with the Baltimore Ravens as my NFL pick  for Monday Night Football.
