Friday's Week 4 NFL Odds Report
By: Jordan Sharp
This week has flown by and it’s already time for our last looks before the start of the Week 4 NFL weekend. Let’s take a look at which NFL odds have been moving the most.
After opening as -3 road favorites in the NFL odds, Seattle is now down to -2 ½ and even -2 heading into Friday morning. The only thing the league and most everyone else is wondering about Seattle is, can they win on the road? They have one of their bigger road tests this week, and with word that Andre Johnson is likely to play in this game for the Texans, the spread has moved down almost a full point. Seattle may still be the play here, but away from Century Link, the Hawks are beatable. NFL bettors are clearly on the Seahawks in this one, but among the eight home dogs this week, you can bet that not all of them will lose ATS.
It appears a trendy pick this week is the Bills as home underdogs, another one of eight teams taking points at home. Baltimore looked great last week, but a majority of the money wagered on this game is on the Bills. While it isn’t a huge majority, it is interesting because a majority of the bets this week have come in on the Giants. This could mean that sharps are targeting the Bills, and although I can’t say I am one of them, I can say that Buffalo is getting closer to becoming a weekly threat to upset some teams. They have played well this season despite their 1-2 record. The only thing stopping me from recommending the Bills here is their defense. While it has some nice parts like Mario Williams and others, their secondary is not very good.

Thursday is here which means Week 4 of the NFL season is also upon us. Let’s take one final look at the NFL odds for Thursday Night Football, as well as some of the other key odds this week in the NFL.
After opening at -3.5 road favorites, the Niners were bet down to -3, and now are starting to approach -3.5 once again. The Rams will be a very tough test in this one, but the Niners should be able to cover this spread. While they may be without Patrick Willis this week, they should have Vernon Davis back, who missed last week’s game. San Francisco is going to try and make another lower scoring game, and seeing as it’s on Thursday, it could very well happen.
This spread opening in favor of the Titans at -4, but early week football betting has moved the spread down a whole point so far this week, and now the Jets are only +3 road underdogs in Nashville. The Jets showed us last week that they can in fact pass the football, which is going to mean more preparation for the Titans’ defense this week. If Tennessee doesn’t start playing a little better on defense, they could be in big danger of losing this game both SU and ATS. They were lucky to get the win last week against the Chargers.
The Broncos opened as -12 sports betting favorites for this game, but the spread has since moved to -10 in favor of Denver. The Eagles will put up a good fight in this game, and I am very skeptical of the Broncos -10 here. You can still get the NFL Odds at +11 in some instances, and even if the Broncos cover here, I doubt it’s a blowout. Philly could have value in this one.

Week 4 is right around the corner, and with Thursday Night Football starting in 24 hours, the rest of the NFL odds should be starting to move any time now. Let’s take another look at some of the most interesting spreads that we have not covered up until this point.
The Bears come into this game as +2.5 underdogs to the Lions in Detroit, and while the spread is not close to settling yet, I think Chicago has a ton of sports betting value. Chicago is already one of by best underdog bets of the weekend, and with Detroit’s defense struggling outside of their pass rush, I think Chicago can come in here and win outright. Their offensive line has been playing much better this season, and with Detroit’s secondary issues, I could see a Bears win here. They are marginally undervalued here, and I think this line might move closer to a "Pick 'em" line once the game gets closer. I would take a look at the Bears’ money line this week.
This game just made a big turn and I think the NFL betting odds might follow. Josh Freeman has been benched for this game against the Cards, and even though the NFL odds have not shifted just yet, they should. Now the Bucs will start rookie Mike Glennon, and even though he has a big arm, he struggles in other areas. Just watch some of his tape from the preseason and you’ll see what I’m talking about. With Freeman out and Glennon in, the Cards are another underdog that might be worth looking at. The Cards had a bad game this past week, but if they can get over the long travel time for this game, I think they have a great shot at covering against a Bucs team that is in disarray.

Week 4 of the NFL season will be here before you know it. We are only two days away from the kick off of Week 4, so let’s take a look at the NFL odds for Thursday night, as well as some of the other games that were not out on odds boards as of yesterday.
Also Check out our:
The Rams are just one of many teams that find themselves as home underdogs in Week 4, as the NFL odds opened favor the road 49ers at -3.5. Both of these teams are coming into this game as losers of two straight games, and on a short week with injuries on both sides, this game is pretty close right now. Of course these two ended in a tie from this very game last season, and it could easily happen again. These two teams know each other very well, and it will be interesting to see what kind of line movement we get with this game in the next couple of days. Already since opening at 3.5, the line has moved to -3 for the 49ers, and it might keep going before Thursday.
Redskins vs. Raiders
Another home underdog this week is the Oakland Raiders, who were beat up by Peyton Manning last night, and are now dealing with an injury to Terrelle Pryor. Pryor left Monday’s blowout game in the 4th quarter with a concussion after playing very well for the first three quarters. Now with his status unknown for Sunday, the Washington Redskins are -3 road favorites in the early week odds, despite being 0-3 SU and having to travel all the way across country. I would watch Pryor’s status all week, and if he is ok to go, I love the Raiders as +3 underdogs, and on the moneyline. The Skins are getting better, but traveling 3000 miles for a game does bad things to most teams, especially a team with a struggling defense like Washington.

Most of the NFL odds for Week 4 are starting to come out across the globe, and seeing as we hit on some early week value last week, let’s see if we can strike gold again starting with Thursday’s prime time matchup. The theme for today’s article will be home underdogs.
Thursday night has the Rams currently +3.5 underdogs to the 49ers in this one, with a total of 42.5. Both teams are coming off of two straight losses, and seemingly for both teams, another loss would mean devastation to their season. On short rest and both approaching desperation, this should be another hard-hitting matchup between these two teams. These teams tied last season when St. Louis had a field goal waved off because of a penalty, and then both clubs missed FGs in overtime. It should be another close one, and my early lean for my NFL picks is on the dog and the under. Thursday night games are almost always ugly.
Seahawks vs. Texans
Seattle is now 3-0 and they head into Houston to play the Texans, who suffered a bad loss to the Ravens in Week 3. The NFL Odds for this matchup favor the road Seahawks at -3, and the total is set at 43.5. The Texans are also dealing with another injury to Andre Johnson, who had to be removed from the game with a bone bruise. Although x-rays were negative, he is scheduled for an MRI today. Keep your eye on his status before making a move on this game.
I guess the Browns told all of us! Cleveland and Cincinnati both had outstanding wins in Week 3, and now the battle of Ohio has the Bengals as a -5 road favorite, with a total of 41.5. Who knows what to think about this game? The Vikings are a bad team, people, and I think their loss to Cleveland showed it. Also, Josh Gordon may be in another uniform by the time Sunday rolls around, as he is the newest contestant on the show, ‘Blow it up and tank it.” Don’t touch this game until later in the week for sure, if at all. It stinks.
Jacksonville is fresh off their butt whipping in Seattle and now they come home to a Colts team that just went on the road and won in San Francisco. The Colts are anywhere from a -7.5, to a -9.5 sports betting road favorite in this game, and the total is currently sitting at 43 points. Indianapolis looked fierce running the ball against the Niners’ defense, so God only knows how many yards the Colts will rack up in this one. Both Trent Richardson and Ahmad Bradshaw had touchdowns against the 49ers, and the odds of that happening again are high.
