Both Tennessee and New York stand at 2-1 heading into Week 4's game in Nashville. What's our favorite free pick for this showdown in the Music City?

Odds Overview

The spread opened at 4.5, with the Titans favored at home, but the lines have been moving against the Titans throughout the week. They're now favored by 3.5 at most sportsbooks. For those who love the Jets in this spot, you can still find +4 at Bovada if you act fast.

Of the 14 games on the Week 4 schedule, the total for Tennessee/New York is the lowest of all. The O/U is at 39 points, with 39.5 also available at Bookmaker.

New York Jets

Including preseason, the Jets have covered six of seven games in 2013, including three straight covers to open up the regular season.

Last week they held on to beat Buffalo 27-20 at home as 2.5-point favorites on the NFL odds board. New York had 513 total yards of offense and they were able to hold the Bills to 328 yards, while sacking E.J. Manuel eight times on the day.

Offensively, the Jets looked good. Geno Smith completed 16-of-29 passes for 331 yards, to go along with two touchdown throws and two interceptions. He also had 14 rushing yards and an additional score on the ground.

Bilal Powell took over the main back duties and had 27 carries for 149 yards, while Santonio Holmes and Stephen Hill combined for eight receptions, 262 yards, and two touchdowns.

Overall, New York is playing a lot better than people expected they would, but their two wins have come against weak opposition at home. Can the Jets get the best of Tennessee on the road?

Tennessee Titans

The Titans left it late last weekend, needing a last-minute touchdown to topple San Diego 20-17 at home. Coming in they were favored by three points, so many backing the home team had to settle for a push.

Justin Hunter picked a good time to make his first catch of his NFL career, finding the endzone with 15 seconds to go to the delight of the Tennessee fans.

A nice balance from the Titans offense was key to the victory. Jake Locker had his best outing of the season, throwing for 299 yards and a touchdown and running for another 68 yards and a score.

Chris Johnson ran for 90 yards on 19 carries, while Nate Washington led all receivers with eight catches for 131 yards. Kendall Wright had six grabs for 71 yards and Delanie Walker pulled in five receptions for 49 yards.

So far so good for the Titans. They've been making their backers happy (2-0-1 ATS) to start the season and now get another favorable matchup at home.

NFL Pick

While the Jets have exceeded expectations so far with rookie Geno Smith leading the way, we believe the better NFL betting odds value lies with the Titans in Week 4.

Tennessee may not be the flashiest team in the league, but they do the important things well. They're sixth in rushing with 133.7 YPG and have the NFL's seventh-best team defense right now. Gregg Williams has done wonders with that unit so far.

The Jets' defense is looking good as well, but we simply feel the Titans will do enough here at home to win and cover the number. Locker is showing more confidence each and every week and his ability to extend plays could give New York a lot of problems this weekend.
