Saints look to extend their winning form to four straight when they take on the hapless Titans at the Superdome. Find out where the value NFL picks are to be had as we breakdown this matchup.

Titans (1-6, 1-2 away)
The Tennessee Titans are sporting a six-game losing streak, the worst run of form in the NFL ahead of week 9 NFL betting and one that doesn’t set them up well against a side that is clearly rejuvenated its season in recent weeks.

Predictably, the NFL betting line opened with the Titans as the 8.5-point road underdogs across sports betting platforms. The Titans are 1-6 SU and 3-4 ATS with a 4.9-point losing margin. As the away team, they are 1-2 ATS with a 0-point losing margin.

In week 1, the Titans beat the Bucs 42-14 behind one of the best rookie performances by Marcus Mariota. However, the following week they slipped to a 28-14 loss to the Browns and last week they lost 20-6 to Houston Texans while Mariota was side lined.

The last result saw Ken Whisenhunt’s term with the Titans end as he was another coach to get his walking papers in the NFL. Good news for the Titans, Marcus Mariota is slated to come back for this clash on Sunday, although whether that makes much of a difference remains debatable as the Saints are surging right now.

Saints (4-4, 3-1 home)
The New Orleans Saints are riding a three-game losing streak behind a revived Drew Brees and his high-octane offense. Now, they are slated to take on the Titans, in what is widely held a winnable game.

The NFL betting lines opened with the Saints as the 8.5-point favorites. However, since open doors, they’ve been bet down to as low as 7.5-points at some sportsbooks.

The Saints got back on the winning track with a convincing 31-21 win over divisional rivals Atlanta Falcons at home. They followed with a 27-21 win over the Colts on the road before winning a shootout over the Giants at home last weekend, a 52-49 win that saw the Saints amass more than 600 yards at the expense of the Giants. Yikes.

After a horrible start to the season, Sean Payton and his Saints have certainly righted the ship. They now look to have a shot at a playoff spot if they can keep the momentum rolling. Certainly, nothing about the Titans suggests they can be competitive in this game so this should be a straightforward W for the hosts. Question is whether they can cover the hefty spread on the NFL odds board?

NFL Betting Verdict
The Saints are an almost sure bet to win this game on Sunday. Colour the world shocked if the Titans somehow pull off the upset. The spread is quite generous with 7.5-points on offer for the Saints to cover for our NFL picks, but if Drew Brees continues to put up gaudy numbers as he’s done over the last three games, there’s no reason why the Saints can’t run away with this game. The Saints are 4-3-1 ATS this season with a 2.6-point losing margin but 2-1-1 ATS at home with a 3-point winning margin.

NFL Picks: Saints -7.5 (-110) Westgate
