The Lions look for their third consecutive win when they travel to Heinz Field to do battle with Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers in Week 11. Is there any NFL betting value to be found in this matchup?

Odds Overview

If you like Pittsburgh to cover, you better act fast when it comes to placing your NFL picks. The Steelers opened at +3, but the lines have shifted and now that numbers at 1.5 at a lot of books.

NFL odds opened the O/U for this one at 47.5 but can also be found at 48 at various football betting sites. The UNDER has hit in six of Pittsburgh's nine games so far, while the OVER has gone 5-4 in Detroit's nine matchups.

Detroit Lions

Thanks to wins in consecutive games (over Dallas and Chicago), the Lions find themselves as the top dogs in the NFC North, one game up on the Bears and Packers.

It was never going to be easy going into Soldier Field and exiting with a victory, but Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson were clicking once again and the Detroit defense held strong to hold off a late comeback.

In all, Matthew Stafford was 18-of-35 for 219 yards and three touchdowns, though he did also throw an interception. Megatron was targeted 17 times but caught only six balls for 83 yards and two scores, while Brandon Pettigrew made some big catches and had 70 receiving yards.

The running game was working against Chicago's banged up defense too. Reggie Bush had 14 rushes for 105 yards and Joique Bell added 41 yards on 10 totes.

The Lions have shown they can win close games and they should be in for another hard-fought battle this weekend.

Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers showed a lot of pride by recovering from a 55-31 beat-down at the hands of the Patriots to win 23-10 over Buffalo.

As three-point favorites, Pittsburgh controlled the game from start to finish. They had the ball for over 35 minutes and made the most of every possession, with Shaun Suisham hitting three field goals and Jerrico Cotchery and Le'Veon Bell getting into the endzone.

Ben Roethlisberger ended up with 204 passing yards to go along with one touchdown and one interception, while Bell finished with 96 total yards. Antonio Brown had six receptions for 104 yards in the win.

However, most of the plaudits should go to the Pittsburgh defense, which held Buffalo to 227 total yards of offense. Fred Jackson and CJ Spiller had only 78 yards between them and the Steelers put a lot of pressure on EJ Manuel throughout.

Now that Mike Tomlin's crew has regained a little swagger, they'll try to carry that over to what should be a much sterner test against Detroit.

NFL Pick

Though the Lions have a lot of momentum on their side, Heinz Field is a tough place to win and the Steelers have also built up some confidence after a convincing win over the Bills.

All isn't lost in the division just yet, so a Pittsburgh win could really pile on the pressure. Roethlisberger should be able to move the chains against a Lions defense that ranks 26th against the pass, allowing 275.6 yards per game. On the other side of the ball, Pittsburgh's pass defense has been performing well, ranking fourth in the NFL by surrendering 201.3 YPG. That's going to come in handy against Stafford and Megatron.

The simple fact is it's hard not to take the Steelers whenever they're getting points at home. We'll be adding Pittsburgh to our sports picks, expecting them to cover in Week 11.
