Sunday’s NFL Week 2 betting has Dennis Allen’s Oakland Raiders squad returning home to face off against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Oakland Raiders held on to cash as 11-point road dogs in last weekend’s defeat to the Indianapolis Colts, erasing an early 14-0 deficit. while the Jags look to regroup from a spanking in their Week 1 opener.

Raiders, Pryor get the money

Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor threw for 217 yards in his club’s 21-17 defeat to Indianapolis, connecting 19-of-29 passes. The 24-year-old added 112 rushing yards, while backfield mate Darren McFadden took in one touchdown as part of his 17 carries.

Pryor moved the ball for 20 first downs in Oakland’s 33 minutes of possession, while finding wide out Denarius Moore for one score through the air. Moore combined for 10 catches with mate Rod Streater, who finished with 70 receiving yards.

Oakland’s defense notched four sacks, while linebacker Nick Roach came away with a team-high five tackles. The battle’s 38 points dipped ‘Under’ the ‘total’ of 45, while the Raiders were flagged with eight penalties for 51 yards.

Jaguars fall as home dogs

Jacksonville logged a 28-2 defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs on the same day of action, failing to collect as a 3.5-point home dog. The Jaguars got on the board with an early safety, followed by their defense giving up three unanswered touchdowns in the first half.

Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert tossed two interceptions, while completing 16-of-35 attempts for 121 yards. The Missouri native suffered a hand injury during the fourth quarter, with backup Chad Henne now expected to start for this Sunday’s affair.

Jacksonville’s offensive line allowed a sizable six sacks, while reaching Kansas City’s red zone just one time all afternoon. Jaguars punter Bryan Anger notched 50.5 YPP in 11 appearances, while the lopsided affair’s combined 30 points plunged ‘Under’ the ‘total’ of 42.5.

Back the Jaguars on the road

Early NFL odds opened Oakland as a six-point home favorite, while first setting the ‘total’ at 39.5. Early wagers on Jacksonville and the ‘Under’ drove the digits south to 5.5 and 39, respectively.

I am backing Jacksonville as a road dog in my NFL betting picks, taking the points and looking to stay within cashing range.

The Jaguars should feel some spark with the switch to Henne as starting quarterback, while facing an overvalued Raiders club that is 0-6 ATS in spots that followed its last six cashed tickets. Jacksonville notched a 5-0 spread record in its first five road matchups last year, with the span including a 26-23 overtime defeat in Oakland as a six-point underdog.

Oakland showed some promise last week in nearly holding on for an upset over the Colts, but finished last year going 1-5 ATS in its final six home dates. The Raiders allowed foes to pile in 31.2 PPG in its first five home contests last year, which should give Henne and Co. its share of chances to move the ball.

Look for the Jaguars’ octane to rise after their clunker of an opener, giving the money to underdog backers in this spot for my sports picks
