Preseason Week 4 is upon us as the 3-0 Eagles fly to MetLife to take on the Jets fresh off a win over the Giants. Let’s peruse the NFL odds & find the right side to back in our NFL picks.

Philadelphia Eagles (3-0 SU, 3-0 ATS)
If anyone had any doubts Sam Bradford is undoubtedly the man in Philly this season and he clinched that with a stellar performance last week against the Packers where the Eagles soared to a 39-26 preseason victory over the Packers. Bradford was immaculate completing 10-of-10 for 121 yards and three touchdown strikes. Bradford, the injury prone quarterback with seemingly limitless potential, has been sidelined through much of his brief career yet punctuated his return to health with a silky smooth performance that kept the chains moving and the Eagles’ offense on the field.

Mark Sanchez took the reins in the second quarter and didn’t miss a beat tossing a pair of TD passes himself and completing 13-of-19 for 150 yards. The battle of the third-stringers continued as Matt Barkley was 5-of-9 for 28 yards and a sack while Tim Tebow was 2-for-2 for 15 yards. The scoring was not strictly the domain of the offense as cornerback Walter Thurmond picked off a Brett Hundley pass and took it to the house for a 28-yard return. The offense is clicking on all cylinders as the Eagles have outscored their opponents 115-53 through the first three exhibition games.

New York Jets (2-1 SU, 2-1 ATS)
The Jets won preseason bragging rights over the Giants in their 28-18 win last week as Ryan Fitzpatrick threw two TD passes and Antonio Cromartie picked off an Eli Manning pass for a 59-yard touchdown return as time melted away in the closing moments of the first half. The first team was in sync as they gave way to the backups after the opening half of play with a 21-7 lead in hand. The Jets’ starters looked crisper and more cohesive than their intra-state rivals and even racked up 67 yards on the ground in the first two quarters on 14 carries.

Leonard Williams, the Jets first-round pick and sixth overall in this year’s draft sustained a sprained muscle in his knee and was sidelined for the second half. Williams is being counted on to replace Sheldon Richardson who will be out of action for the first four games of the regular season due to violation of the league’s substance abuse policy. The prognosis is good for Williams but don’t expect to see him suiting up for a meaningless fourth exhibition contest. The Jets decreased their penalties substantially from the 17 incurred against the Falcons but were still whistled for eight infractions for a total of 50 yards.

NFL Pick
As of this writing the NFL odds have spiked from an opener of Philadelphia -3 ½ to as high as -7 at shops like 5Dimes. The majority of the offshore sportsbooks are hanging the Eagles -4 to -5 ½ which seems to be fairly reasonable considering the juggernaut that has been their offense. Although the lumber looks heavy don’t be afraid to lay it as head coach Chip Kelly will want Bradford to see more action than the average starter. Bradford has been rehabilitating for most of his career and Kelly knows the best action for his starter is live action.

Don’t expect to see much of the Jets’ shutdown corners in Darrelle Revis or Antonio Cromartie as New York head coach Todd Bowles will most likely sit the duo completely or send them in for very limited action. Kelly’s high-octane, fast-paced offense seems to be clicking with Mark Sanchez as well so this should be the icing on the cake of a perfect preseason record for Philadelphia.
