The Tampa Bay Buccaners play host to the Miami Dolphins at the Raymond James Stadium. Who will come out on top in this Florida Monday Night Showdown?

The Miami Dolphins ended a four-game losing streak with last Thursday’s 22-20 overtime win against the Cincinnati Bengals, cashing for my followers as a three-point home dog. Monday’s NFL betting has Joe Philbin’s club heading north to meet the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Dolphins, Wake edge out Cincy

Miami’s Cameron Wake notched three of his side’s five sacks in last week’s triumph, including one for a game-ending safety. Wake’s mate Dimitri Patterson logged a team-high eight tackles, while grabbing his season’s fourth interception.

Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill connected 20-of-28 passes, throwing for 208 yards. The Texas native took in his squad’s first touchdown for a 7-3 lead in the second quarter, while running back Lamar Miller dashed for a season-high 105 yards on 16 carries.

The duel’s combined 42 points ‘pushed’ the closing ‘total,’ while the Dolphins allowed 465 total yards in Cincinnati’s 40 minutes of possession. Miller fumbled once for his club’s sole turnover, while Miami’s Brent Grimes returned an interception 94 yards for paydirt in the second half.

Buccaneers fall in Seattle

Tampa Bay also saw overtime in its latest action, dropping last Sunday’s 27-24 affair to the Seattle Seahawks. The Buccaneers blew a 21-0 lead, while holding on to cash as a 16-point road dog.

Bucs mates Timothy Wright and Tiquan Underwood caught one touchdown each from quarterback Mike Glennon, uniting for 87 receiving yards on six receptions. Tampa Bay’s Mike James rushed for 158 yards out of the backfield (5.6 YPR), while throwing a scoring strike to tight end Tom Crabtree.

Buccaneers safety Mark Barron equaled his season-high of 10 tackles, while snagging one of his side’s two interceptions. The contest’s 51 points sailed above the ‘total’ of 40, with both foes combining for 14 penalties (166 yards).

Back the UNDER in Tampa

Bet365 opened the NFL odds with key numbers, listing Miami as three-point road ‘chalk’ and the ‘total’ at 41. Early wagers on Tampa Bay and the OVER moved the digits to 2 ½ and 41 ½, respectively.

I am adding the UNDER in this matchup to my week of sports picks, looking for a close contest with tight scoring chances.

Miami has been held to 17 points in both of its last two road affairs, while its defense kept Cincinnati from scoring touchdowns in two of three red zone trips last week. The Dolphins should look to their running game again here, which will grind its share of clock at “The New Sombrero.”

Tampa Bay ranks nearly last in the league for offense with 304.2 YPG and 15.5 PPG. The Buccaneers have had some signs of improvement, but should have the wind out of their sails here after last week’s collapse.

Dolphins punter Brandon Fields has averaged 48.8 YPP, pinning foes deep – which should set up for some long trips needed by Glennon and Co. Miami has seen the UNDER cash at 5-1 in its last six spots against clubs with losing records.

Look for the UNDER to get the money again for your NFL pick here, adding a winning ticket for the wager to its 5-2 mark in Tampa Bay’s last seven home dates.
