The Cincinnati Bengals have stumbled a bit after starting the year 8-0, dropping 2 straight.  But the Rams are in even worse shape and despite the steep odds we expect them to continue to slip.

St. Louis Rams vs. Cincinnati Bengals (-8.5)
The St. Louis Rams visit the Cincinnati Bengals for this non-conference NFL game that kicks off at 1:00 ET at Riverfront Stadium.  It is a matchup of 2 teams who have each fallen on hard times.  St. Louis enters on a 0-3 SU ATS slide after winning and covering 3 of their 4 previous games.  The Bengals, after their 8-0 SU start, suffered from undefeated letdown at Arizona and have now lost consecutive contests, including their (10-6) MNF defeat on this field to Houston.  One of these teams will bounce.  I am confident that I know which team that is.

The Rams ‘decline has coincided with a battered and bruised offensive line.  Remember when rookie RB sensation Gurley was rambling for a buck and a quarter a game?  Behind injured blockers, Gurley has averaged just 67 RYPG L3 contests.  Last week, in a 16-13 loss to Baltimore, the Rams were outgained 388-213, when they lost 4 fumbles and had a (-2) net TO margin.  Now at 4-6 SA and with a huge game against division leader Arizona next week, this may be one the Rams mail in.  The legendary underdog record of St. Louis HC Fisher has recently dissolved to 6-14 ATS as road dog.

On the other side of the field is a Cinci team who has been to the playoffs 4 consecutive years.  Though the 8-0 SU start was a bit over their heads, this veteran team will not fade in the face of a couple defeats.   Two weeks ago, they lost an MNF on this field to lowly Houston as 12 point home chalk.  That gives plenty of motivation for the bounce back on a field where they are 11-4 ATS as home chalk.  After that MNF home loss, the Bengals were asked to travel west on a short week to battle 8-2 SU Arizona.   No shame in the (34-31) loss, a game in which the stats were virtually identical.

The Cincinnati Bengals are a veteran team with loads of playoff experience.  A pair of mid-season losses have not threatened their position atop the divisional race.  But, it will give them ample motivation to rebound from those defeats.  Great spot for the Bengals to bounce with the benefit of a huge home/road dichotomy!

I invite you to put the NFL odds in your favor with my NFL Pick on the Cincinnati Bengals.
