Andy Reid’s Kansas City Chiefs remain at Arrowhead Stadium for their third straight week at home. This NFL Sunday, they'll be hosting the Cleveland Browns for a one o'clock showdown. The Chiefs remain undefeated so far this season, can they pull off another "Win"?

The Kansas City Chiefs held on for last weekend’s 17-16 win over the Houston Texans, while failing to cash as a 6.5-point home favorite.

Chiefs, Hali hold off Texans

Kansas City traded early leads twice in last Sunday’s victory, while holding the Texans to 293 total yards. Chiefs linebacker Tamba Hali notched 2.5 of his side’s five sacks, with he and his mates allowing just one red zone trip from Houston’s offense.

Kansas City’s Alex Smith threw for 240 yards, connecting 23-of-34 passes under center. The ninth-year quarterback added six keepers for 28 yards, taking in one touchdown for a 14-10 halftime lead.

The tight affair’s combined 33 points ducked below the ‘total’ of 38.5, moving the ‘Under’ to 6-1 through the Chiefs’ seven weeks of action. Kansas City controlled the ball for 32 minutes of possession, with Smith and Co. marching for 20 first downs.

Browns thrashed in Green Bay

Cleveland logged its second straight loss on the same afternoon, dropping a 31-13 contest to the Green Bay Packers. The Browns were held to 216 total yards, failing to collect as a 7.5-point road dog.

Browns tight end Jordan Cameron caught his first touchdown in three games, reaching the end zone on a late two-yard strike from quarterback Brandon Weeden. Cleveland’s offensive line allowed three sacks, while both squads combined for 22 penalties (203 yards).

The Browns’ defense gave up 260 yards through the air from Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers, with secondary mates Tashaun Gipson and T.J. Ward uniting for 16 tackles. ‘Under’ wagers held on to cash at NFL betting windows, with the battle’s combined 44 points sliding below the closing ‘total’ of 45.

Back the ‘Under’ on Sunday

Kansas City opened as a seven-point home favorite on the NFL odds board, with a minus 115 tag added to the home ‘chalk.’ The ‘total’ was first listed at 39, driving north to 39.5 after initial wagers on the ‘Over’.

I am going against the ‘steam’ here, backing the ‘Under’ as part of Sunday’s NFL picks for Week 8.

Kansas City has held visiting foes to 11.5 PPG in its four home dates, while allowing five sacks in last year’s 30-7 defeat to the Browns. The Chiefs should be out to showcase its improved defense en route to revenge, while Smith and Co. face a Browns’ squad ranking seventh in total yards allowed (318.9 YPG).

Cleveland has seen the ‘Under’ collect at a 2-1 clip through its three road spots, held to a sparse 16.7 PPG. The Browns failed to notch a touchdown last week until the duel’s final six minutes, while running back Willis McGahee was held below 40 rushing yards (3.5 YPR) for a second straight game.

For your sports picks, look for the Browns to struggle again here, while Kansas City grinds out the clock with a late lead for ‘Under’ backers to cash.
