Odds Overview

This is a situation where it pays off to employ multiple sportsbooks in your handicapping endeavors. Sports betting lines for this Week 5 matchup vary greatly depending on where you're looking.

For instance, the Broncos were favored in the NFL odds by 6.5 points at a couple books at time of writing, but others had a line as high as eight. As for the total, it opened at 54 and has been rising steadily – it's currently at an even 56.

Denver Broncos

What else is there to say that hasn't been said?

The Broncos are blitzing through everyone that steps in their way. They've won every game this season by at least 16 points and have gone 3-0-1 ATS through the first four weeks of the regular season.

Last week was yet another clinic, with Denver racking up a franchise-record 52 points in a 32-point victory over Philadelphia. The Broncos easily covered the 10.5 points they were giving to the visiting Eagles.

Peyton Manning was efficient as ever, completing 28-of-34 passes for 327 yards and four touchdowns, without throwing an interception. He's yet to be picked off all season long. Wes Welker and Demaryius Thomas both caught two touchdowns in the dominant win, while Knowshon Moreno had 91 total yards and a score.

With Manning leading the way, the Broncos are clearly number one in total offense so far, and now they come up against a Dallas team that's been having issues defending the pass. That's not a good formula if you're a Cowboys fan.

Dallas Cowboys

It seems like there's a lot of hype surrounding the Cowboys before each and every season starts, but the same results continue to happen. There's been little consistency through the first month of the season for Dallas, with the team alternating wins and losses through the first four weeks.

Against San Diego this past Sunday, the Cowboys were looking good at half, up 21-13 thanks to two touchdown grabs from Dez Bryant and a long interception return for a touchdown from Sean Lee.

However, everything unraveled from there. Dallas couldn't get anything going offensively and failed to score in the second half and they didn't do any better defensively. In all, they surrendered 506 total yards of offense to the Chargers.

Bryant was one of the few standouts in the loss. He had six catches for 81 yards and the two scores, while Terrance Willliams hauled in seven receptions for 71 yards. However, DeMarco Murray was held to only 70 yards on 14 carries.

Despite losing last week, the Cowboys have been making money for backers this season, cashing in three of their four appearances. Week 4's forgettable effort was their first ATS loss.

Week 5 Pick

This is Denver's most difficult test yet, but at some point you simply have to admit this team is something special. At the level Manning's playing at, we're not sure any team will be able to hang with the Broncos.

Coming in, the Cowboys are ranked #19 in both total offense and defense. They're giving up 304.5 passing yards per game (#27 in the NFL), and that spells disaster with Manning, Welker, Decker, and the two Thomases coming to town.

In a game that could easily evolve into a shootout, we question whether Tony Romo will be able to keep pace. So, for our Sunday NFL picks, let's hop on the best line we can find and back Denver to win by a touchdown or more this weekend.
