We have already discussed the Super Bowl and conference future odds this offseason, and now the NFL divisional future odds are starting to come out, and there are once again some interesting value emerging as we get closer and closer to the start of the regular season.

New England Patriots (-600)

This is not much of a surprised, as I suspected the Patriots would be chalked up pretty high to win the division this season. They are already one of the biggest Super Bowl and AFC favorites, so why shouldn’t they be huge favorites in the AFC East? We barely have to get into how bad their division is, but all in all I see little to no value with the Patriots this offseason when it comes to the divisional odds. They have much more value in the AFC and Super Bowl odds this offseason, so don’t waste your time on the AFC East odds. The rate of return on your investment would be much too small to make it worth backing with your NFL picks.

Miami Dolphins (+500)

If any team has value this offseason in the AFC East odds, it’s the Dolphins. They are undervalued here and in the AFC and Super Bowl odds, and while it would take almost another Tom Brady injury for it to happen, the Pats are not as invincible as most people seem to think they are. New England has some injury concerns and the Dolphins are not going to be half bad this season. They have been making a ton of improvements, and I don’t think the books have noticed as much as they should have. Miami will almost certainly have a lot of value by the time the season comes around, because no one seems to think they will be much better than they were last season.

Buffalo Bills (+1000)

There isn’t much to see here other than the fact that the Bills have better odds to win the division than the Jets do, which is another matter of hilarity that I’ll get into later. The Bills have to be one of, if not the biggest question mark heading into next season, and that turns any value they might have had into nothing. You can’t bet on a team as unstable as the Bills are right now at quarterback, even though the rest of their team happens to be pretty good. I also agree that they should and will finish above the Jets in the division.

New York Jets (+2500)

The fact that the Jets are this big of an underdog is hilarious. The sportsbooks in Vegas are giving them no love, and why should they. This could be one of the worst Jets seasons since 2007. If 6-10 SU wasn’t bad enough last season, the Jets seem to have done nothing with their offense and even though I expect their defense to play better this season, I don’t’ see how we can get that excited about it. Rex Ryan is a lame duck coach and if the season goes south in New York early, I don’t expect him to last the rest of the season.
