Let’s take a look at these NFL Odds courtesy of Bet365, and decide who are the best bets in the AFC.
This is seemingly the only real divisional race in the AFC this season. Obviously I think there will be other close divisions, but the winner of this one should have some value. The Ravens won last season, but they are so decimated after their Super Bowl that I doubt they win it again this season. The Steelers are the favorites at this particular sportsbook, but I think the value lies with the first underdog, the Bengals. Cincinnati already has a playoff team, and while the other two teams in this division got worse this offseason, the Bengals got a lot better. I think they are a ten-win team this season, and I think youth will finally beat out age and experience in this division.
My Pick: Bengals +210 for your Sports Picks.
Obviously the Bills and Jets are way out of the discussion, so that leaves the resident bully, and the new kid on the block. I just can’t see much value coming out of this division. The Patriots have way too much chalk for a valuable divisional future odds bet, and any value the Dolphins have at +500 is wiped away by the fact they play in the same division as New England, and they play them twice a year. I’m laying off the AFC East.
My Pick: No play
It’s not as bad as the AFC East, but the South is not much better. The news that Ahmad Bradshaw might be signing with the Colts is surely going to help, and I think that might put them over the top. I think the Colts’ Super Bowl odds are a bit farfetched, but I am becoming a believer in the Colts both in the AFC (+1600) and the South division. I don’t think the Texans should have this much chalk, and I think Bet365 is giving us just enough value on the Colts to make them worth a small value bet.
My Pick: Colts +250 for your NFL Divisional Picks.
Much like the AFC East, the West is the haves and have-nots. The Broncos are huge chalked up favorites, and that is a no go in my book. I might lay some chalk in a single game bet, but there are way too many variables in a future odds bet to lay that much chalk. I do think the Chiefs might have a small bit of value, but like the Dolphins in the East, it is wiped out by playing against Peyton Manning twice a year and playing him in the standings as well. I am laying off the West as it stands now. Only an injury to Manning would make me chance my mind.
My Pick: No play
