For a 3-year stretch, Seahawks-49ers was the best & most-heated rivalry in the NFL. It's not quite must-see TV Thursday night with both teams struggling. Let's examine some 49ers NFL player props.

It was rather expected that the 49ers were going to take a huge step back this season. They forced out of the best football coaches on the planet in Jim Harbaugh after the 2014 campaign in a power struggle with the front office -- just look at the job Harbaugh is doing at his alma mater Michigan. He was replaced by the underwhelming Jim Tomsula in his first head coaching gig. Might it be one-and-done for Tomsula? Surely the San Francisco front office knew this was going to be a rebuilding season after that once-stellar defense lost nearly every big-name player to retirement, free agency or flat-out release (Aldon Smith). Bovada offers a Week 7 prop on the next coach to be fired this season; of course Miami's Joe Philbin was after Week 4. The favorite on NFL odds now is Jacksonville's Gus Bradley at +350. Tomsula is on the list but the longest shot with the Rams' Jeff Fisher at +1200.

Obviously having a winning record through six games increases a team's playoff hopes. Since 1990, 220 of the league’s 300 playoff teams (73.3 percent) had a winning record after six games. But it's not totally over for the 2-4 49ers and Seahawks (although it probably is for Thursday's loser). Also since 1990, 80 of 300 playoff teams (26.7 percent) had a .500 record or below after six games, including two teams from last year’s postseason: Pittsburgh and Seattle.

Colin Kaepernick 'Over/Under' 17.5 Completions, 209.5 Passing Yards, 1.5 TD Passes, .5 INTs, 36.5 Rushing Yards
Is Kaepernick a franchise quarterback? This is the first year of his six-year, $114 million contract extension but that $114 million number is totally misleading. Kaepernick has a cap hit of more than $15 million this season with a dead money number of $20.7 million. That dead money number drops to $7.4 million in 2016 and just $4.9 million in 2017. So I would think the Niners give Kaepernick one more year after this one to prove he's their guy. At times this season, he has looked like the future star he was projected to be in 2013. Last week, for example, he completed 16-for-27 for 340 yards, two scores and no picks for a rating 128.2, by far a season high. But Kaepernick also had a rating of 55.4 in a loss to Green Bay (13-for-25, 160 yards, one pick) and a ghastly 16.7 in a loss to Arizona (9-for 19, 67 yards, four picks). Kaepernick is still a rushing threat as he has 39 carries for 228 yards and a score. His season high is 57 yards. Kaepernick has always struggled against Seattle. In six starts against the Seahawks (including one postseason game), Kaepernick has managed only three touchdown passes against nine interceptions (four by Richard Sherman), completing just over 53 percent of his passes and getting sacked 18 times. To no surprise, the Niners are 1-5 in those six. Seattle is No. 11 against the pass and largely has played well against the pass since Kam Chancellor returned -- except in the fourth quarter.
NFL Free Picks: 'UNDER' all passing other than interceptions, 'over' rushing.

Anquan Boldin O/U 4 Receptions, 52.5 Receiving  Yards
The 35-year-old Boldin hasn't looked his age in the past two games. Two weeks ago in a loss at the Giants, Boldin had eight catches for 107 yards and a touchdown. And in Sunday's win over Baltimore, Boldin's former team, he had five catches for 102 yards. He had been rather quiet in the season's first four games. Boldin has four career 100-yard receiving games against Seattle. He also has 86 receptions and 1,079 receiving yards against Seattle during his career, both the fourth-most totals for a Seahawks opponent all-time. Boldin is dealing with a hamstring injury but is expected to play.
NFL Free Picks: 'OVER' both. Those are pretty low totals and he's clearly Kaepernick's main guy.

Carlos Hyde O/U 52.5 Rushing Yards
Hyde is technically listed as questionable with a foot injury but likely to play. Hyde has carried 104 times for 430 yards and three scores on the season. He has been somewhat quiet, however, since a mammoth 26-carry, 168-yard, two-TD season opener against Minnesota. Seattle ranks 13th against the run, allowing 99.7 yards per game. The Seahawks also are expected to get back Pro Bowl linebacker Bobby  Wagner from injury for this one.
NFL Free Pick: 'UNDER.' Hyde's not 100 percent, and Seattle doesn't fear Kaepernick so it will load up to stop the run.
