Swingin' Johnson thinks Tom Brady and the Patriots are going to come into Buffalo and take care of business as considerable favorites. We can't say we disagree there.
Pick: Patriots -6.5
The Seahawks are hoping to contend for a Super Bowl and Adam Markowitz is picking them to cover against Cam Newton and company.
Pick: Seahawks -3.5
Here's one of the toughest calls on the board in our book, which is why the spread is at a field goal. In the end Jason Lake is going with the home team.
Pick: Bears -3
Neither of these teams lit it up offensively last season, but steps have been taken on both teams to improve on that front. Jordan Sharp is on the OVER for Week 1.
Pick: OVER 41
The Lions are favored by five points at most sportsbooks now, but Jason Lake was able to lock down 4.5. Detroit is the play in this NFC North battle.
Pick: Lions -4.5
Widely expected to be one of the worst teams in football this season, the Raiders face a tough task against Andrew Luck and the Colts in Week 1. Still, Steve Merrill sees the value on Oakland here.
Pick: Raiders +10.5
Pretty much a pick'em here in a matchup between two franchises with a lot of question marks. Neither team is great, but the Chiefs have more to be optimistic about and will be David Lawrence's pick.
Pick: Chiefs -1.5
This is the game I analyzed and I decided against a pick on the spread. We know how prolific both of these offenses can be, so the OVER is where we feels the best NFL betting value lies.
Pick: OVER 53.5
No one's expecting much from the Jets this season. They disappointed last season and have even less talent here in 2013/14. Jason Lake is selecting the Buccaneers as small road favorites in Week 1.
Pick: Buccaneers -1.5
Though Ross Benjamin doesn't see any weak spot in the NFL odds in this spot, a pick had to be made and it comes on the UNDER. Will Mike Tomlin and Mike Munchak focus on the run game?
Pick: UNDER 42
You couldn't really ask for a better Week 1 showdown. The 49ers and Packers should both be serious Super Bowl contenders again this season – Swingin' Johnson has opted for offense and the OVER.
Pick: OVER 48.5
Strides have been made since Jeff Fisher took over as head coach, and many are expecting an even better year out of the Rams. For his NFL picks, David Lawrence agrees and is taking St. Louis.
Pick: Rams -4.5
The season's first edition of Sunday Night Football features two heated rivals doing battle at Cowboys Stadium. The Giants have fared well in recent trips to Dallas though, so Jordan Sharp is picking the road team.
Pick: Giants +3.5
Soon we'll see if Robert Griffin III is truly 100 percent like he says he is. You've got to like Washington's chances if he's his old self and Jordan believes they'll cover against the new-look Eagles.
Pick: Redskins -3
The Chargers were hard to trust last season, but that means they could be a little undervalued in the early part of 2013/14. Nonetheless, the Texans are primed for another successful season and will be Jason Lake's best bet for Monday Night Football.
Pick: Texans -3.5
