NFL Week 2 is in the books which means another clean slate heading into Week 3. We caught a better glimpse at what to expect from these teams this season. The Arizona Cardinals and Minnesota Vikings are real contenders this season.

The New York Giants might actually be a decent football team for once and the Jets–-well they’re still the Jets. The Saints may have been able to find success in Week 1 vs. the Packers but they were exposed by the Carolina Panthers in Week 2.

Meanwhile, Green Bay was able to wake up and find their mojo again, and the same with Julio Jones on the Titans

Carolina Panthers vs. Houston Texans

Thursday, September 23, 2021 - 08:20 PM EDT at NRG Stadium

We have been spoiled with some exciting Thursday night football games, so let’s hope that the Carolina Panthers and Houston Texans can keep the fun going.

It’s a quick turnaround for the Carolina Panthers, who will travel to Houston. But their heads should be high with a 2-0 start to the season after smacking the NFC South rival New Orleans Saints 26-7 last week.

Unfortunately for Houston, they can’t say the same. They will be fresh off a 10-point loss to the Cleveland Browns and forced to throw rookie signal-caller Davis Mills into the fire.

https://twitter.com/HoustonTexans/status/1440088382479208449?s=20

Starting QB Tyrod Taylor is expected to miss up to four weeks with a hamstring injury and Houston has no plans to play Deshaun Watson. The rookie has some action against the Browns and managed a touchdown pass but also threw one interception in the loss.

The Panthers are looking hot on both sides of the ball. Their defense allowed just 128 total yards to a Saints team that posted 38 points in Week 1.

They also intercepted quarterback Jameis Winston not once––but twice. And QB Sam Darnold is really proving himself to Carolina after he passed for 305 yards and two touchdowns.

The Pick

It’s Thursday night football which means things are usually close, but with a rookie QB competing against a stingy Carolina Panthers team, it’s hard to imagine they don’t get blown away at home. Sorry, Houston.

Arizona Cardinals vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Sunday, September 26, 2021 - 01:00 PM EDT at TIAA Bank Field

The Arizona Cardinals are 2-0 and looking for a third straight victory as they travel across the map to Jacksonville to take on the Jags.

Arizona was able to destroy the Titans in Week 1 38-13 and Chandler Jones had five sacks on Ryan Tannehill. The game was closer in Week 2 as they outlasted the Vikings 34-33.

Kyler Murray, once again, put on a show and has seven passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns on the season so far.

https://twitter.com/AZCardinals/status/1440362940209664001?s=20

As for the Jaguars, they lost 37-21 in Week 1 to the Houston Texans and then 23-13 to the Denver Broncos in Week 2.

No 1. Overall draft pick QB Trevor Lawrence has a passer rating of 57.1. He has completed just 50% of his passes and has four touchdown passes compared to five interceptions.

The Pick

It’s unfortunate for the Jaguars and rookie head coach Urban Meyer, but the Cardinals have too many weapons on offense and it’s front seven as well with Jones, J.J. Watt, Isaiah Simmons and Zaven Collins.

They simply don’t have the talent on either side of the ball to keep up with this Cardinals team.

Washington Football Team vs. Buffalo Bills

Sunday, September 26, 2021 - 01:00 PM EDT at Highmark Stadium

The Buffalo Bills were able to bounce back in Week 2 against the Miami Dolphins winning 35 to zip.

Josh Allen and the rest of the offense have been off track so far this season but the defense hasn’t missed a beat, giving up just 23 points over the first two games of the season.

Not to mention that they held Miami to 216 total yards while forcing three turnovers and totaling six sacks.

https://twitter.com/BuffaloBills/status/1440114553392488452?s=20

Allen was 17-for-33 passing for 179 yards and two touchdowns plus one interception while running back Devin Singletary rushed 82 yards on 13 carries. And backup running back Zack Moss scored two touchdowns.

Washington kept things entertaining on Thursday Night Football with Taylor Heinicke front and center. They missed a field goal kick but got another shot after the Giants were called offsides and ultimately came out on top to win 30-29.

Heinicke was 34-for-46 passing for 336 yards and two touchdowns with one interception during his first regular-season start since 2018.  Wideout Terry McLaurin had 11 receptions on 14 targets for 107 yards and a score.

And their defense managed four sacks of Giants QB Daniel Jones.

The Pick

The Football Team allowed 29 points to Daniel Jones and the Giants and they’ll need to step it up this week if they want to win or at least come close to it. Still, this Washington front seven isn’t going to be as easy to run all over for Buffalo like it was against the Dolphins.

NFL Pick:

Atlanta Falcons vs. New York Giants

Sunday, September 26, 2021 - 01:00 PM EDT at MetLife Stadium

Atlanta was, once again, embarrassed in week two with a 48-25 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as 13-point underdogs.

Ryan completed 35 of 46 passes for 300 yards and two touchdowns and had the Falcons in a position to keep up with the defending Super Bowl champions but three interceptions kept Atlanta out of the game.

Not to mention that the Falcons defense has surrendered 80 points in two games.

https://twitter.com/AtlantaFalcons/status/1440361178924871684?s=20

It was a heartbreaking loss for the Giants who had a chance to win but an offsides call let Washington kick again, so New York has nobody to blame but themselves for that one. Daniel Jones threw for 249 yards and a touchdown with one on 22/32 completions.

He also led the Giants on the ground with 95 rushing yards and a TD on nine carries. That’s supposed to be Saquon Barkley’s job, but he’s not 100% healthy just yet. We could see him find his old self this week against a very questionable Falcons defense.

https://twitter.com/Giants/status/1438663388599570435?s=20

The Pick

Still, the Giants are just as questionable as this Falcons team. Atlanta found some momentum in Week 2 and if they can get it together by this weekend, then the Giants are going to have a real problem.

This could be a very messy game but I think the Falcons finally have a shot here.

Miami Dolphins vs. Las Vegas Raiders

Sunday, September 26, 2021 - 04:05 PM EDT at Allegiant Stadium

The Las Vegas Raiders entered both Week 1 and Week 2 as underdogs but came up with two big wins against the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers.

All of sudden, the Raiders look like a real AFC contender with Derek Carr at the helm. In his first two games so far, Carr has thrown for 817 yards across. His last weekend stats were 382 yards and two touchdowns.

https://twitter.com/Raiders/status/1440354957882904588?s=20

Meanwhile, star wideout Henry Ruggs reeled in five passes for 113 yards and one touchdown. And Vegas’s defense held the Steelers to just 39 total rushing yards.

Miami, on the other hand, got spanked by the Buffalo Bills. The 35-0 loss marked the Dolphins’ second-worst shutout loss at home in franchise history. The worst part?

Starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was carted off the field with a rib injury after throwing just four passes.

The Pick

Las Vegas finally has a legitimate defense along with an early MVP candidate in Carr to balance it all out. Without Tagovailoa leading Miami, this defense is going to have another field day forcing some turnovers and put the Raiders in a position to make some big plays.

Expect another blowout.

NFL Pick:

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Sunday, September 26, 2021 - 01:00 PM EDT at Arrowhead Stadium

Two AFC West rivals, both 1-1, meet up for an afternoon Week 3 showdown. The LA Chargers failed to keep their momentum rolling in Week 3 and lost to the Dallas Cowboys 20-17 as PK Greg Zuerlein connected on a 56-yard field goal to seal the deal on the final play.

Quarterback Justin Herbert was 31-for-41 for 338 yards and a touchdown while wideouts Keenan Allen and Mike Williams combining for 11 receptions, 199 yards and one touchdown. The second-year QB had two interceptions but he isn’t the only one to blame.

https://twitter.com/chargers/status/1439714643505676288?s=20

The Bolts’ defense gave up 198 yards and two TD's allowed and not to mention the 12 penalties for 99 yards LA had that kept them out of the game.

On Sunday night, the Chiefs had a 35-24 lead into the fourth quarter against the Baltimore Ravens but allowed them to catch up and lost to a game-winning field goal by running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire.

KC let quarterback Lamar Jackson finish the night with 107 yards and two rushing scores of the 251 total rushing yards and a trio of TDs. The lackluster defense was simply a waste for Patrick Mahomes’ 343-yard, three-TD passing performance.

https://twitter.com/Chiefs/status/1440360176553381888?s=20

The Pick

LA might not win but with Herbert making a name for himself, the Chargers certainly have a chance to keep up here.
