Week 3 of the NFL kicks off with an intriguing divisional matchup between the Bucs and Falcons tonight. NFL Odds makers have the Falcons as -6 home favorites, with a total of 45 ½ points. Atlanta is back at home, a place they tend to play well, but on a short week, will they be able to bounce back from last week’s loss?

Georgia on Their Minds
The Atlanta Falcons probably couldn’t wait to get home after getting beaten down by the Bengals in Cincinnati, and going up against a Bucs team with some major offensive issues might be the cure to get the Falcons back above .500. Atlanta only scored ten points last week, but if they don’t at least double that here on a short week, I’ll be surprised. While their defense isn’t anything to get excited about, they have enough offense to outscore the Bucs in this game.

Speaking of the Bucs’ offense, there are some questions tonight on whether or not Doug Martin will be able to play. After having to miss last week’s game, Bobby Rainey stepped in and was fantastic for the Bucs’ offense. He ran for almost 150 yards, and even if Martin is able to play tonight, Rainey has earned a few more touches. If Martin plays and is ineffective, Rainey should take over. He has a good matchup too, because the Falcons’ run defense is pretty bad.

Falcons Not Only Favored By Odds but Also by the Masses vs. Buccaneers

The Sharp Pick
A teaser might be the best play for this game, however laying the points with the Falcons, along with the over still might be a good parlay. Atlanta’s home ATS record has been very good over the last few seasons, and even after a bad 2013 season, they Falcons are still 32-27 ATS at home since 2007.

The Falcons are now 4-0 ATS in their last four Thursday night games, and dating back to last season, they are 6-2 ATS in their last eight overall games. The Bucs are 0-4 ATS in their last four games following a SU and ATS loss, and they are 1-7 ATS in their last eight games as a road underdog between three and ten points.

ATS Pick on the Tampa Bay Buccs vs. Atlanta Falcons

Although they have a good shot at rushing the ball well in this game, the Falcons are still going to come away with the win. However with the possibility that the Bucs outperform their offensive expectations, I think the over is the play here. The defenses will start to get tired soon, and even though short week games normally turn into a good under bet, not between these two teams.

The over is 6-0 in the Falcons last six games as a home favorite, and the over is 8-3 in the Falcons last 11 home games. The Bucs have also cashed the over in four of their last four Thursday night games, and the over is 7-3 in the Bucs last ten games as an underdog.

To add some value to your sports picks, add the Falcons at -6 on NFL odds, and the over at 46 to your NFL Picks tonight.
