Which NFL Coaches Will Be Given Their Pink Slips?

Will Jason Garrett be the Cowboys’ head coach in Week 1 of 2019 regular season?

  • Yes -180
  • No +125

Jason Garrett has weathered storm after storm and has still gotten Jerry’s unwavering love despite some very tumultuous seasons in the big chair. It’s hard to argue with a guy who has taken his team to a division title in three of the last five seasons including this one. The NFL odds on this prop, posted by some of SBR’s top-rated sportsbooks, are requiring we pay more than our fair share of juice but that’s okay because Garret’s going nowhere.

Free NFL Pick: Yes -180

Will Mike Tomlin be the Steelers’ head coach in Week 1 of 2019 regular season?

  • Yes -280
  • No +200

Mike Tomlin has been a fixture in the Steel City since 2007 and it’s no coincidence that coaches tend to hang around when they have an elite quarterback under center for them year after year. Chances are Tomlin will wear out his welcome right around the time Big Ben decides it’s time to hang up the cleats … which won’t be this year.

Free NFL Pick: Yes -280

Will John Harbaugh be the Ravens’ head coach in Week 1 of 2019 regular season?

  • Yes -1000
  • No +600

Harbaugh has been the Ravens’ head shot-caller since 2008 and the last time Baltimore won the AFC North during his tenure was in 2012 when they won the Super Bowl. Harbaugh boldly replaced an aging Joe Flacco with a fleet-footed rookie in Lamar Jackson and has his sights set on a divisional title with a win over the Browns in Week 17. Although I wouldn’t lay -1000 on any of my NFL picks, if you’re so inclined then be my guest because it’s better than ripping up a “value’ ticket on No at +600.

Free NFL Pick: Yes -1000

Will Marvin Lewis be the Bengals’ head coach in Week 1 of 2019 regular season?

  • Yes -550
  • No +360

It’s extraordinary to many that Marvin Lewis still has the head coaching job in Cincinnati after three consecutive losing seasons and now taking up residence in the basement of the AFC North this season behind the perennial doormats from Cleveland. The Bengals have a team option for 2019 and I say he either resigns or gets the boot. The +360 that SBR’s premier online sportsbooks are hanging looks too tempting to ignore.

Free NFL Pick: No +360

Will Jay Gruden be the Redskins’ head coach in Week 1 of 2019 regular season?

  • Yes -400
  • No +275

The Redskins were running hot until Alex Smith suffered a Theismanesque leg break only to see his backup Colt McCoy suffer a similar fate. It’s hard to pin the ‘Skins free fall on the head coach and Gruden will get another bite at the apple in ’19.

Free NFL Pick: Yes -400

Will Vance Joseph be the Broncos’ head coach in Week 1 of 2019 regular season?

  • Yes +110
  • No -150

Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio has reported that Vance Joseph is all but gone after the 2018 season and if the Broncos’ GM, John Elway, had it his way he would have been sent packing after last season if he could have wooed Mike Shanahan out of retirement. Two consecutive losing seasons does not sit well in Mile High.

Free NFL Pick: No -150

Will Dan Quinn be the Falcons’ head coach in Week 1 of 2019 regular season?

  • Yes -800
  • No +450

Quinn’s seat may be getting warm but it’s by no means on fire. The Falcons struggled through a miserable season but Quinn still has enough street cred in the locker room to avoid a pink slip.

Free NFL Pick: Yes -800

Will Adam Gase be the Dolphins’ head coach in Week 1 of 2019 regular season?

  • Yes -230
  • No +170

The Dolphins are expected to purge some of their staff and players at season’s end but chances are that Adam Gase will survive, although, Executive Vice-President Mike Tannenbaum and QB Ryan Tannehill will not be so lucky.

Free NFL Pick: Yes -230

Will Pat Shurmur be the Giants’ head coach in Week 1 of 2019 regular season?

  • Yes -280
  • No +200

Pat Shurmur will live to see next 2019 in the Giant’s big chair as he is just getting his feet wet in Gotham after a disappointing first season at the helm. Eli Manning is clearly fading but Shurmur is owed a mulligan after keeping Manning in the starting lineup despite some miserable performances. In addition, Saquon Barkley could use the continuity of a secure head coach and he will have it.

Free NFL Pick: Yes -280

Will Sean McDermott be the Bills’ head coach in Week 1 of 2019 regular season?

  • Yes -800
  • No +450

General Manager Brandon Beane had a pretty good idea that the Bills might struggle this season and it would be illogical to replace the man that took Buffalo to the postseason in 2017 and could do so again next season with a rookie quarterback in Josh Allen that will be more mature and pro-ready in ’19.

Free NFL Pick: Yes -800

Will Todd Bowles be the Jets’ head coach in Week 1 of 2019 regular season?

  • Yes -145
  • No +105

Todd Bowles is 26-40 as an NFL head coach and has guided his charges to their third straight five-win or worse season. Bowles received an extension last season through 2020 but getting him out could be addition by subtraction, particularly with a young Sam Darnold who may need to learn from someone better.

Free NFL Pick: No +105

Will Dirk Koetter be the Buccaneers’ head coach in Week 1 of 2019 regular season?

  • No -205
  • Yes +150

The Bucs are a hot mess and everyone from Jameis Winston to Dirk Koetter could get the ax. The only true talent they have on the roster is wideout Mike Evans but aside from him, everyone is fair game. Let the bloodletting begin.

Free NFL Pick: No -205
