As Week 10 NFL odds hit the board, we look at some of the guiding betting trends that NFL bettors should spot to aid your Week 10 NFL picks.
Thursday Night Football Betting
Through nine weeks of Thursday Night NFL betting the OVER consistently cashed for NFL bettors, with the exception of two weeks – week 2’s clash between the Ravens and Steelers that went 26-6 to the Ravens and, most recently, week 9’s clash between the Saints and Panthers that went 28-10 to the Saints. While the latest Thursday clash went well under expectations, the average total points scored each and every Thursday remains above the 50-point mark. Indeed, it’s at 52.4-points at the moment, down just 2-points since week 8’s 35-21 win by the Denver Broncos over the San Diego Chargers yielded a Thursday average of 54.225-points.
This coming Thursday we have the clash between the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals to look forward to, set to the tune of 43.5-points in early NFL odds markets. Both offenses are average approximately 23 points and leaking almost the same amount through nine weeks of NFL betting. What’s more the OVER has cashed in five of Cleveland’s last six games against Cincinnati.
Several games on Sunday’s slate have the appearance of straightforward affairs, beginning with Dallas vs. Jacksonville. Dallas are coming off their second straight loss of the season, but a hapless Jacksonville side in week 10 is the perfect recipe for a turnaround. A mere formality you could say with the Jaguars 1-10-1 SU in their last 12 games. Another trend for this clash is the OVER cashing in four of Dallas’ last five games when playing Jacksonville. Another straightforward affair would appear to be the clash between the Steelers and Jets. Steelers are 7-3 SU in their last ten games when playing the Jets on the road. Add to that the current mess the Jets find themselves in at the moment and you get a sense the Steelers need only to rubber stamp this one with a “W.” The UNDER has cashed in five of Pittsburgh’s last five meetings with the Jets on the road.
Cardinals are 7-1 SU on the season, which includes a perfect 4-0 SU record at home. Granted the St. Louis Rams are coming off a big win over divisional rivals San Francisco on the road. Pulling off the feat in back-to-back weeks seems a bit of a stretch, all things being considered. Not least Cardinals are enjoying a four-game winning stretch.
Miami boast a 5-1 SU record in their last six meetings with Detroit. Last week, the Dolphins improved their record over the Chargers to 6-0 SU in their last six home meetings and 9-2 SU in their last 11 overall meetings. NFL betting trends proved the charm for Miami, but will they prove to be definitive against a Detroit side that is proving to be the comeback Kings of the season? The UNDER has cashed in four of Miami’s last five games on the road.
A few clashes aren’t as straightforward as one might think upon first glance. Chiefs are riding a three-game winning streak but they take on an opponent that’s proven a tough ask in recent meetings. The Chiefs are just 1-6 SU in their last seven meetings with the Bills on the road. What’s more, the Bills are 5-2 SU against the Chiefs in their last seven games.
San Francisco are coming off a shock defeat to the St. Louis Rams, a lacklustre account that has many pundits pushing the panic button on them. New Orleans are coming off their first road win in forever, putting together their first winning streak of the season. They are back to the top of the NFC South standings with a 4-4 SU record. As they are undefeated in their last 11 games at home, and they are 7-2 SU in their last nine games against the Niners and 5-1 SU when playing the Niners at the Superdome, they would appear to be poised to extend their winning form to three in a row at the Superdome in week 10 NFL betting.
