Defending champions Seattle Seahawks have received no favours from the schedule, prompting many NFL bettors to question whether backing Russell Wilson and Company to repeat as champions is a viable NFL pick. Let’s see shall we as we flip through the schedule and deliver our win total predictions.

Seattle Seahawks dealt horrendous schedule
The Seattle Seahawks have received no favours from NFL schedulers; beginning with a rough opening triplet that leads into a Week 4 bye, after which a 13-week long haul stretches before them to the finish line, back-ended with a mostly Divisional rivals. Compared to last season’s schedule – which was a walk in the park, frankly – this is a minefield. They are a talented bunch, but too many games have the potential to derail them from a successful title defence campaign. In fact, we’re going to boldly declare (you heard it here first, mind): they’re going to struggle to touch the 10.5 win total this season set by odds makers. To the point of suggesting this could be a push NFL betting pick. If they do prove us wrong, however, it’ll be by only just crawling over that chalk line.

Week1 vs. Green Bay
This game could set the tone for the season. Green Bay Packers boast one of the most lethal offenses with Aaron Rodgers at its helm. He can rattle Seahawks secondary to the point of showing them up in front of the 12th man. All the pressure will be on the Hawks to kickoff their season with a win.  But neurotic local media, diehard fans and the novelty of becoming instant celebrities is bound to be a distraction. Watch if this game doesn’t serve as a rude awakening.
NFL Pick: Loss

Week 2 @ San Diego
There was a lot to like about the Chargers last season, all of which suggests this side could be headed in the right direction. They’ll be keen to pick up from where they left off last term, and with home field advantage against the visiting Hawks, the Chargers could deliver a close battle here. This could go either way. Seattle should win as the superior side on paper. The Chargers could win as the dangerous floater.
NFL Pick: Loss

Week 3 vs. Denver
One word: Revenge. The Super Bowl rematch practically leaps off the page as a must-see on the NFL 2014-2015 schedule. Overwhelming expectation has it a much closer affair than the 43-8 disembowelling in the final, which most Broncos fans are eager to forget. The Broncos indulged in a lavish offseason spending spree, thanks to the Super Bowl hangover. It remains to be seen how all these purchases fit on the field, but by Week 3 in NFL betting we should have a good idea. So don’t be surprised if Manning and Co. have their sweet revenge.
NFL Pick: Loss

Week 4 - Bye
Seattle Seahawks take a 0-3 mark (or 1-2 with the Chargers game being the difference) into the Bye week.

Week 5 @ Washington
Finally, a winnable game for the Seahawks on the road is served up on the schedule. The Redskins are rebuilding. A lot of good changes have occurred that has NFL backers cautiously optimistic towards a respectable season. Challenging the Seahawks will be a tough ask, not with the state of their current porous defense. Seahawks should enjoy a big win here.
NFL Pick: Win

Week 6 vs. Dallas
As far as movement goes, America’s team is headed in the wrong direction. A dodgy talent pool, questionable quarterback...where does one begin to list what is wrong with the Dallas Cowboys. Expect Tony Romo – a genius one game, a blundering buffoon another – to have a tough time avoiding disaster against a lethal Seahawks secondary. Russell Wilson shows up the Cowboys something huge.
NFL Pick: Win

Week 7 @ St. Louis
The Rams closed the 2013-2014 season on a 9-27 away defeat to the Seahawks.  Before that they lost narrowly to the Seahawks at home. The Rams made Russell Wilson work hard for the 14-9 win. Expect much of the same here: a close game and narrow victory by the Seahawks.
NFL Pick: Win

Week 8 @ Carolina
Seattle Seahawks should face little resistance from a Carolina Panthers that saw its bench depleted over the offseason. This should be a straightforward road win for the defending Super Bowl champions.
NFL Pick: Win

Week 9 vs. Oakland
Nothing about the Oakland Raiders should concern the Seahawks at all. Expect Seattle to trounce the visitors before the 12th man mercilessly. This should be a walk in the park.
NFL Pick: Win

Week 10 vs. New York Giants
This game sets up as a rather interesting affair with the season over the halfway mark at this point. Eli Manning and Company were embarrassed 23-0 by the Seahawks last season, so there’s an element of pride on the line. Question is whether the Giants have done enough in the offseason to make them a credible threat in this game. By Week 10 we’ll know for sure. At this early vantage point, it’s hard to say. If we were to take a page from last year, Seahawks should win. That said it’s wise to not take anything for granted where Eli Manning is concerned. He could surprise here.
NFL Pick: Loss

Week 11 @ Kansas City
Alex Smith will relish the challenge of taking the measure of Russell Wilson. Last year, the Chiefs rose out of nowhere to become one of the most impressive outfits in the league. It would be wise not to underestimate that feat. Chiefs edge past Seahawks in a narrow win.
NFL Pick: Loss

Week 12 vs. Arizona
Arizona Cardinals are a sleeper betting pick for many bettors this season. There’s solid talent on the bench, good coaching and decent options on both sides of the ball. What’s more, the Cardinals dealt the Seahawks a 17-10 defeat in week 16, marking the last home defeat for the defending champions. The Hawks however will be eager to level that score and so they should.
NFL Pick: Win

Week 13 @ San Francisco
Circle this game on your calendar because it should be defining. It’s the first time these bitter rivals collide since last season’s Championship game, which was a close call, not to mention a heated defensive battle. San Francisco has everything to prove, and home advantage with which to do it. If it lives up to the billing, it should be a close one with Seattle’s road woes against Colin Kaepernick and Co. in the sunny state continuing.
NFL Pick: Loss

Week 14 @ Philadelphia
Philadelphia Eagles surprised many last season, particularly the stellar play of Nick Foles. It would be wise not to underestimate that threat. Nevertheless, Seattle Seahawks should win a close one here with the regular season well into the business end.
NFL Pick: Win

Week 15 vs. San Francisco
The reverse between Seattle and San Francisco will hinge on the outcome of their first meeting this season. Short of a crystal ball, what that outcome might be is hard to say definitively, not to mention deciding which ensuing intangibles could swing this clash either way. What we do know is that the road team struggles in this matchup. As such, it’s safe (to a point) to assume Seattle win here. However, don’t be shocked if San Francisco upset the NFL odds. The thinking: maybe a road team is due to win, after all.
NFL Pick: Win

Week 16 @ Arizona
If the Arizona Cardinals are going to get one up on the Seattle Seahawks, this is their opportunity to do so. This could be one of those late season upsets to spot.
NFL Pick: Loss

Week 17 vs. St. Louis
In the last two seasons, the Seahawks have beaten the Rams on their last lap in the regular season. In 2012, they beat the Rams 20-13. The following year they beat them 27-9. This has the makings of another straightforward win.
NFL Pick: Win

NFL Betting Verdict
If we tot up our game-by-game predictions, we have Seattle Seahawks closing the regular season on a low of 9-7 or 10-6 mark and a high of 11-5. It’s outrageous, right. But as we said in our introduction, we’re not convinced Seattle will be hard pressed to cross  the10.5 chalk line, if at all. For your NFL picks, we recommend either the Under 10.5 at +135 or a push.
