Denver Broncos have stocked up on talent during the offseason, openly announcing their serious Super Bowl intentions. Have they done enough to bring home the Lombardi Trophy? Here’s a look at the Bronco’s 2014 schedule, complete with game-by-game predictions, which NFL bettors could also use towards betting on Broncos’ win totals in the 2014-2015 NFL season.

Super Bowl Hangover?
The Denver Broncos finished the regular season with 13-3-0 mark, a stellar run of form that prompted a concerted push all the way to the Super Bowl Championship game whereupon they were mercilessly decimated by the Seattle Seahawks to the shock of all and sundry.

On the merit of their 2013-14 NFL season, Denver Broncos emerge with the highest win total on the board, chalked at 11.5. On the balance of their abysmal final 43-8 showing, however, scepticism about that win total number is rife. The concerns are that an aging force, big-game-fragile quarterback and offseason changes that have been met with muted celebration in certain NFL circles, can’t possibly carry the Broncos Over that total (matched at -110). Indeed, the betting public has pushed the Under to -120, a clear indication of these doubts. Propelling this notion further is also the fact that the Broncos have a tough NFL schedule to deal with this season.

Week 1 vs. Indianapolis
Peyton Manning’s defeat to his Colts replacement Andrew Luck in the 2013-2014 NFL season cannot have sat well with him at all – not that he’d ever admit as much publicly, consummate gentleman that he is. So it’s somewhat fitting that Peyton Manning, as he looks to right some of last season’s wrongs, opens against his former Colts and upstart Andrew Luck. Revenge served cold in the agenda.
NFL Pick: Win

Week 2 vs. Kansas Chiefs
Last season, the Chiefs burst out of the gates on a nine-game winning streak. The Broncos were the first side to snap that run of form with 27-17 win in Denver. In fact, that first defeat seemed to rattle the Chiefs as they went on to lose five of their last seven games on the season, including a 35-28 defeat to Denver at home. Expect much of the same here, especially with some of the key improvements on both sides of the ball the Broncos made during the offseason.
NFL Pick: Win

Week 3 @ Seattle
Drop everything: it’s the Super Bowl rematch. How will it go? Another horror show for Peyton Manning or will he exorcise those demons? For the sake of good sportsmanship, let’s hope it’s not another one-sided beat down. Then again, who doesn’t want to see the league’s MVP rise to the occasion and give Seattle a taste of their own bad medicine? It’s a tough call when Denver are on the road, but hope springs eternal, so they say.
NFL Pick: Win

Week 4 - Bye
If Denver suffer another demoralising defeat to the Seahawks (oh, how unthinkable it is), an additional week for reflection, quietly to gather the shattered fragments of their egos, will be welcome.

Week 5 vs. Arizona
Denver Broncos should capitalize on home field advantage against an Arizona side that many are hoping will prove a profitable sleeper NFL pick. Cardinals secondary could give Manning a headache, but we expect the Broncos to clinch the crucial “W” narrowly.
NFL Pick: Win

Week 6 @ New York Jets
It’s been three seasons since the last meeting between these two sides. A lot has changed since then, namely the Jets getting slightly better. They finished 8-8 last season and enjoyed marginal success against some of the league’s heavyweights. They haven’t improved enough to pose a real threat to the Broncos however. This should be a straightforward road win for the Broncos.
NFL Pick: Win

Week 7 vs. San Francisco
Home field advantage is going to play a factor in this matchup. The Broncos must capitalise on it against one of the season’s credible threats for the Super Bowl. IF all goes to plan, the Broncos win. That said, if there were a home game that could go awry, this could prove to be just that.
NFL Pick: Loss

Week 8 vs. San Diego
Chargers sent seismic shockwaves through NFL betting circles when they beat the Broncos at home last season. Doing twice is another matter. It’s a matter of principle for the Broncos to win.
NFL Pick: Win

Week 9 @ New England
Peyton Manning vs. Tom Brady, does it get better than that in the AFC? If last season’s competitive, back-and-forth momentum-swinging game were any indication, probably not. Theoretically, this could go either way. For now, we’re going to give it to the home team.
NFL Pick: Loss

Week 10 @ Oakland
Nobody would blame the Broncos for looking upon this clash as a well-deserved second bye week, getaway to sunny California in November in order to recharge and regroup for a tough stretch down the business end of the season. The betting pick is obviously a win here.
NFL Pick: Win

Week 11 @ St Louis
Expect the Rams to serve up a stern test on the road. Defensively, they could harass Peyton Manning and keep him to a low score. But the Broncos overall should overpower the Rams to the win.
NFL Pick: Win

Week 12 vs. Miami
The Dolphins surprised many pundits with an 8-8 mark last season, but the whole Incognito saga has cast a cloud over the organisation, thrusting it into turmoil. It remains to be seen whether those sensationalised events remain a distraction on the new season. Broncos should take the straightforward win.
NFL Pick: Win

Week 13 @ Kansas City
Broncos descend on the Chiefs looking to sweep the Divisional series 2-0 as they did last season. But it would be wise to give Alex Smith and Company the benefit of the doubt this time around.
NFL Pick: Loss

Week 14 vs. Buffalo
Buffalo Bills went 6-10 last season. NFL Odds have them on pace with win totals at 6.5 this season, which is telling. Of their meagre win total count on the season, a win over the Broncos on the road is certainly not expected to be amongst them.
NFL Pick: Win

Week 15 @ San Diego
The Chargers on the road could prove to be a surprise obstacle for the Broncos at this late vantage point. They did spend a lot of money improving defence in the offseason, which should give the Chargers offense a real run for its money. Still, the Chargers took a win over the Broncos last season, so they might fancy their chances of accomplishing the feat on home turf.
NFL Pick: Loss

Week 16 @ Cincinnati
Cincinnati Bengals finished the regular season 11-5 to win AFC North. They are a quality side that can’t be underestimated. Expect the secondary to harass Peyton Manning and keep the score close.
NFL Pick: Win

Week 17 vs. Oakland
A final regular season game against the Raiders is the icing on top of the cake, a much-appreciated reprieve before the offseason. Broncos to runaway winners at home in a big way.
NFL Pick: Win

NFL Betting Verdict
By our overzealous estimations, we have the Bronco’s matching their impressive 13-3 record from last season, possibly, even, going one better for a 14-2 mark. Most NFL betting fans are backing the Under 11.5 at -120. We’re going against the grain with our NFL betting picks, taking the Over 11.5 at -110.
