The opening numbers are out for week 7 and for those partaking in NFL football betting, the idea is to start formulating opinions and either pounce early on what you like or take a wait and see approach.

I am not usually one in a hurry to the window to get money down for NFL picks, but that does not mean I will not start formulating ideas for research purposes as the week goes on.

After giving consideration to the NFL betting odds at A-rated Intertops, here are situations that might have pretty good value.

Is Philadelphia on Play Against Alert?

It is starting to look like the Eagles bye week came too early, after suffering road losses to Detroit and Washington. In each case, they started slowly and came back with a chance to win or tie. Maybe being at home will help, but going against a rested physical football squad like Minnesota is a hardly ideal situation.

Not saying Philly has been 100 percent exposed until you see how they play at home, but Minnesota at early -2.5 price would not appear to be a bad wager.

Washington Suddenly Worth Following

The Redskins head to the Motor City on a 4-0 SU and ATS win streak. Is Washington an outstanding team, no, however, they believe they are at the very least above average in many facets and after 0-2 start, developed resiliency and belief.

Going to Detroit, they were a +1 or +2 underdog at all sportsbooks reviewed and like the end of last season, the Redskins are doing all the little aspects of the game right. Detroit has won two straight home games but need late rallies to pull off both and are facing a very confident squad on the hunt for another victory.

Buffalo Ready for Miami or Did Dolphins Finally Figure Something Out?

After stumbling start, the Bills have stampeded to 4-0 SU and ATS record and have road division game at Miami. Buffalo at -3 looks like a gift, but did the Dolphins upset of Pittsburgh change their outlook? It certainly made the case that Ryan Tannehill is a far better quarterback when he has a running game to fall back on, like the Fins running for 222 yards like they did against the Steelers.

Miami has lost five of six to Buffalo, including both last season and is a far better club as a home underdog compared to a favorite, making them an intriguing early week team with potential.

What is the Deal With Pittsburgh?

The Steelers turned in another true dud in loss to Miami and opened as 3.5 -point home underdogs to New England. Once it was learned Ben Roethlisberger was out, and back-up Landry Jones was the starter, the Steelers flew to +7. This team is so up and down in 2016 and while you would surmise they would bring best effort, does Jones win QB duel with Tom Brady?
