Packers finally bounce back in week 12. Can they keep the momentum going at the expense of the Texans? We serve up choice NFL picks for this much-anticipated tilt.

Houston Texans vs Green Bay Packers

Point Spread Value

Aaron Rodgers and the Packers make a belated return to the win column on MNF, beating the Philadelphia Eagles 27-13 on the road to cover as the considerable +4 road underdogs. The win snaps a four-game negative trend, one of the worst in Rodgers’ career as a starter with the Packer. The question is whether all is now back on track. Is this a veritable sign of a turnaround? It’s impossible to say for sure; hence, it’s not a lock week 13 NFL pick by any means. One thing is certain, the Houston Texans struggle on the road. That alone gives the Packers some room for optimism to extend their run of form to two in a row and start to salvage the remnants of their 2016 campaign.

The Survivor

The Packers just snapped a four-game losing streak. The Texans are mired in a two-game losing streak that sees them slip to a 6-5-0 SU record, tied with the Titans at the top of the AFC South. On the road, the Texans are merely 1-4 SU, which is a bit of a worry. Certainly, it takes the shine off their NFL odds to pull off the upset at Lambeau. The Packers have struggled at home but they remain in the positive with a 3-2 SU mark that includes a 2.2 winning margin and -4.4 differential versus the spread.

Game Total

The Texans defense can’t be overlooked, allowing just 21.5 points per game it could give Aaron Rodgers some headaches. The former MVP is not up to his lofty standards and the Packers offense still isn’t quite up to snuff. The Texans offense has struggled of late too, to be fair. In the last couple of games, they’ve averaged merely 16.5 points scored. Consider these facts, the likely bet does appear to be the UNDER in our books.
