If you’re looking for a rock solid NFL selection on Sunday, then we have it. Take a moment to read our insightful NFL betting preview article in the game between Minnesota and Detroit, and it includes a free point-spread winner in addition to a terrific 26-6 ATS (81.2%) betting angle.

NFC Central Clash at Ford Field on Sunday
It will be a battle of two NFC Central division rivals on Sunday when the Lions host the Vikings at Ford Field in Detroit. The opening kickoff is slated for 4:25 PM ET. According to the NFL betting odds at BetOnline, the Lions are a 7.5 point favorite, and the posted total is 43.0.

Vikings Record is Deceiving
A lot of people may be impressed with the Vikings 6-7 record on the season. After all, they’ve played the majority of the year with a rookie quarterback (Teddy Bridgewater), and have been without the services of star running back Adrian Peterson who is serving a lengthy suspension imposed by the league office. However, after careful examination, you can count me out as one of those who are impressed by what’s perceived to be an overachieving team. The Vikings 6-wins have come versus opponents that have gone a combined 22-55-1 this season, and that equates to a dismal winning percentage of .285. Minnesota has failed to defeat a team with a winning record all year.

High Degree of Urgency
You may find it difficult to understand why the Lions would be playing with a sense of urgency on Sunday, versus an opponent on paper they should easily defeat. Well consider this, they’re just 1.0 game behind the Packers for the Central Division lead, and by winning each of their next two games, they will assure themselves of an opportunity to play for the division title in their regular season finale at Green Bay. The Lions hold the tie breaker in that scenario by virtue of their 17-3 home win over the Packers earlier this season. That’s not to even mention the plethora of scenarios in which they can be a NFC wild card team. Keeping with the theme of taking one game at a time, the Lions can ill afford to stub their toe this week versus a Vikings team they’re clearly superior to, and then next week on the road versus the struggling Chicago Bears. The Lions have gone a superb 6-1 at home this season, and covered in 5 of those 7-games. They’ve also gone a perfect 3-0 SU&ATS this season versus opponents from within their same division.

NFL Betting System
The Lions are coming off SU&ATS wins as a favorite in each of their previous two games. They also defeated the Vikings 17-3 at Minnesota earlier this season. Taking these facts into account, it falls under the category of an extremely profitable NFL ATS betting system, and I’ll take advantage of that handicapping asset in making one of my NFL picks for the upcoming week.

Any team (Detroit) coming off SU&ATS wins as a favorite in each of their previous 2-games, versus an opponent (Vikings) which is playing with same season revenge, that team has gone 26-6 ATS (81.2%) during the past 5-seasons.
