It’s time for Week 3 of the NFL Season and some teams are surprising the rest of the league, while others are in desperate need of a win.

Check out the best value football picks that I think you can profit from in Week 3's Sunday games.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-2) at New England Patriots (2-0)

Both of these teams are having problems entering this week as the Pats are an 8.5 point betting favorite at Gillette Stadium.

Tampa Bay is still reeling from a Week 1 penalty by Lavonte David that cost them a win against the Jets, the team is losing confidence in quarterback Josh Freeman, and Revis Island is about to sink as star Darrelle Revis is already upset with the coaching style of head coach Greg Schiano. I don’t think Revis will be happy anywhere that he plays.

Edelman and More Edelman

It’s become quite apparent that with injuries, players leaving for other teams, and players on trial for murder, legendary quarterback Tom Brady, has nobody to throw the football to except for wide receiver Julian Edelman.

Other receivers aren’t used to the plays and Brady’s delivery and are dropping the football at a rapid pace. On the season, Edelman has 20 receptions for 157 yards and 2 TD. He plays on special teams also and has basically been the entire New England offense. You can see the look of disgust on Tom Brady’s face; he needs some help.

Although Tampa Bay is a bad team, 8.5 points are too much for the Pats to be laying with the offense that they currently possess.

NFL Pick: Take Tampa Bay +7 (-110) at Ladbrokes

New York Giants (0-2) at Carolina Panthers (0-2)

Coach Coughlin can’t be happy with the way that his quarterback has been playing. Eli Manning has thrown 7 interceptions in just 2 games and he’s coming off of an embarrassing loss to his brother and the Denver Broncos.

New York has gotten absolutely nothing from their running game as David Wilson leads the Giants with just 36 yards! This can possibly be attributed to the Week 1 benching that Wilson received after fumbling twice against the Dallas Cowboys. Although Cam Newton can put up big numbers and possesses the skill to be an all-pro, he doesn’t really know how to win at the professional level and that’s where the Giants have the edge in this game. Look for a little more of Brandon Jacobs in this game even though he was inept against the Broncos.

On a side note, Coach Coughlin’s brother died this week while getting out of an automobile after the game. Look for Coughlin and the Giants to be extra motivated this week despite the public favoring Carolina and the spread at even NFL odds.

NFL Pick: Bet the New York Giants –1.5 (-110) at William Hill

Buffalo Bills (1-1) at New York Jets (1-1)

Big Opportunity For Both Teams

It’s evident that the AFC East isn’t the same. Despite New England’s 2-0 record and the Dolphins beating the Colts last week, Miami isn’t going to win the AFC East. The Jets have gotten 10 days rest since the 13-10 loss at Gillette Stadium in a game that they clearly should’ve won. The weather can partially be attributed to the loss, but the main reason why New York lost was the inexperience of rookie quarterback, Geno Smith.

Smith threw 3 picks against the Pats and it basically cost them the game. Look for Geno to improve with experience; he’s shown that he has a good touch and looks to be the future for the Jets at the quarterback position with an injured Mark Sanchez.

New York also possesses the running tandem of Bilal Powell and Chris Ivory. I tend to disagree in the way that Rex Ryan has used Ivory. Ivory is a bull that’s difficult to take down and the Jets need to implement him more into the offensive scheme. New York also has to feel good about the emergence of Kellen Winslow Jr. Look for more of Winslow Jr. against the Bills.

E.J. Manuel

Buffalo has appeared to find their franchise quarterback in E.J. Manuel. Manuel looked spectacular in a 24-23 win over the Carolina Panthers last week. He was 27 for 39 for 296 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT. Manuel will have C.J. Spiller and Steve Johnson at his disposal, but this is the toughest defense that Manuel has had to face.

Look for New York to pull out a close one at MetLife Stadium for your sports picks.
